Yes, Mérida has a Carl’s Jr. Several, in fact. If you are staying downtown, go to the Centro branch on Calle 60, between Calles 65 and 67, one block from the Plaza Grande: it opened in March 2024 and seats 135 people on two levels. The most-reviewed branch is Prolongación Montejo in the north of the city, rated 4.5/5 on Google from 4,540 reviews, according to Wanderlog. Budget about 99 MXN for a Famous Star con Queso on its own, going by unofficial national prices from October 2026. One warning before you set out: the chain publishes no hours for its Mérida branches, so every opening time below is reported, not confirmed.

How I put this Carl’s Jr Merida guide together

I built this guide from the official Carl’s Jr. México site, the Mérida franchisee’s site, local press, Rappi, directories and review aggregators. Where a source does not back a figure, I say so. I did not eat at these branches for this piece, so there is no tasting verdict and no rating here. What you get instead is my view on which branch suits which kind of trip.

The Google ratings come from Wanderlog and Restaurant Guru, which relay them; I did not read them on Google directly. The TripAdvisor page blocked me, so its score comes from a search-engine snippet. Prices come from an unofficial national menu aggregator, because I found no verified 2026 price list specific to Mérida. I could not open Yelp. All sources were consulted on October 13, 2026.

What is Carl’s Jr.? The chain and its history in Mérida

Carl’s Jr. is a Californian burger chain, in Mexico since 1991, and its Mérida branches are run by a local franchisee, Mex Burger. The story starts in 1941, when Carl Karcher opened hot dog stands in Los Angeles. The first Carl’s Jr. restaurants followed in Anaheim, California, in 1956 (Milenio).

Mexico’s first Carl’s Jr. opened in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, in 1991. By 2024 the chain had more than 300 restaurants in 29 Mexican states, according to Milenio. The brand belongs to CKE Restaurants. For the bigger picture on where chains are opening this year, see our report on burger chain international expansion in 2026.

In Mérida, the restaurants are operated by MEX BURGER, S.A. de C.V. Its regional site, carlsjrmerida.com, sends customers to Rappi for delivery (carlsjrmerida.com). The Diario de Yucatán also names Mex Burger as the company that runs the franchise.

According to the Diario de Yucatán, the Centro restaurant that opened in March 2024 was the company’s 9th in Mérida and Campeche. It came 15 years after the city’s first Carl’s Jr. The investment was reported at around 12 million pesos, and a 10th restaurant was planned for December 2024 (Diario de Yucatán). I could not confirm whether that 10th branch opened, or where the first one was.

For its 35th anniversary in Mexico, the chain sold the Famous Star con Queso on its own for 35 MXN on September 30, 2026, excluding combos and airport restaurants (Crónica). That was a one-day deal and it is over.

Carl’s Jr Merida locations and addresses

Carl’s Jr. has four Mérida branches with a page on the official site, plus the Centro branch confirmed by local press and several more listed on Rappi. Sources disagree on the total, so I give no single count. This table lists every branch I could document.

Carl’s Jr. Centro: the pick for visitors

The Centro branch is the Carl’s Jr. to choose if you are staying in Mérida’s historic center. It sits on Calle 60, between Calles 65 and 67, one block from the Plaza Grande. It faces the Bazar García Rejón (Con Acento).

It opened on March 7, 2024, with 135 seats on two levels. The inauguration was led by the company’s general director, Alejandro Dogre Muñoz (Diario de Yucatán). Hiring for the branch was announced on December 27, 2023 (POSTA).

Two gaps to know about. The official site has no page for this branch, and I found no official phone number for it. Rappi lists the address as C. 60 517b, but the press only confirms Calle 60 between 65 and 67. My advice: search for Carl’s Jr Centro Mérida in your maps app instead of typing a street number.

Carl’s Jr. Prolongación Montejo: the most reviewed

Prolongación Montejo is Mérida’s most-reviewed Carl’s Jr., rated 4.5/5 on Google from 4,540 reviews, according to Wanderlog. The official address is Calle 34 #396 x 39 y 41, Emiliano Zapata Norte (Plaza Mayor), C.P. 97129, phone (999) 944-90-99 (carlsjr.com.mx).

The directory Sucursales24 places an El Globo bakery 50 m away and a Domino’s 90 m away (Sucursales24). A directory also lists Wi-Fi, air conditioning, parking, card payment and delivery here. No official source confirms any of those.

Carl’s Jr. Galerías

The Galerías branch is inside the Plaza Comercial Galerías Mérida shopping mall, a practical stop if you are already there. The official address is Calle 60 #299, Local 311, Unidad Habitacional Corddemex, Col. Revolución, C.P. 97110, phone (999) 941-88-74 (carlsjr.com.mx). Restaurant Guru shows it at 4.3/5 on Google from 1,098 reviews.

Carl’s Jr. Plaza Cascadas

Plaza Cascadas is a small-mall branch in Col. San Antonio Cucul, in the north of the city. The official address is Calle 32 x 55, Local 1, Plaza Cascadas, C.P. 97116, phone (999) 948-0235 (carlsjr.com.mx). Rappi lists it twice.

Carl’s Jr. on the Mérida–Progreso highway

Yes, there is a Carl’s Jr. on the road to Progreso. It sits at Km 12+700, inside the Abimerhi gas station in Xcanatún, phone (999) 406-73-64 (carlsjr.com.mx). On a beach day trip, it is the handy stop on the way out. I found no confirmation that it has a drive-thru.

Caucel, Poniente, Cholul and Kanasín

Four more branches show up only on Rappi and in directories. None has an official page or published hours. The chain announced an opening in Caucel-Mérida in a post dated October 9, 2022, and Rappi places that branch at Caucel Plaza 55, Local 13, Ciudad Caucel (carlsjr.com.mx). Cholul and Kanasín lie outside the city of Mérida proper (Rappi).

Carl’s Jr Merida hours

Carl’s Jr. does not publish opening hours for any of its Mérida branches. The official pages only link to the franchisee’s invoicing site, facturacion.carlsjrmerida.com. The hours below come from directories, aggregators and press, so check Google Maps or call the branch before you go.

Carl’s Jr Merida menu prices in pesos

A Carl’s Jr. burger in Mexico costs about 89 to 163 MXN on its own, from the Classic Burger to the Original Big Angus. A combo runs about 185 to 190 MXN. These are unofficial national prices dated October 2026, not prices confirmed at the Mérida counters (mxmenu.org).

Item Reference price (MXN, Oct 2026)

For a Mérida-specific reference, POSTA reported in December 2023 that a California Classic Cheeseburger combo, with 150 g of small fries and a 590 ml drink, cost 109 MXN in the city. That price is almost three years old. Treat it as a historical marker, nothing more.

What to order at Carl’s Jr. in Mérida

Order a Famous Star with onion rings. The Famous Star was on the list the Diario de Yucatán highlighted when the Centro branch opened, alongside the Chicken Club, Santa Fe Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Double Western Bacon, Teriyaki and Portobello Mushroom burgers.

Reviewers at Prolongación Montejo single out the jalapeño poppers. At Galerías, it is the onion rings and the bacon-guacamole burgers. So my order, built on what diners repeat rather than on a tasting of my own: a Famous Star, onion rings, and the poppers on the side. If you like the Famous Star enough to make it at home, try our Carl’s Jr. Famous Star copycat recipe.

Is the Mexican menu different from the US menu?

The core burgers carry the same names as in the US, often with con Queso added. I found no Mérida-only item. National promotions such as Martes Todos Comen Carl’s and Carl’s Packs do not always apply in Mérida, according to an aggregator, so ask at the counter before counting on them.

Vegetarian options at Carl’s Jr. in Mérida

A Veggie Star is listed at 113 MXN in national price data, and a Portobello Mushroom burger was mentioned at the Centro launch in 2024. Neither is confirmed on the current Mérida menus. Ask before you order.

Carl’s Jr Merida reviews: what diners say

Mérida’s Carl’s Jr. branches score well on Google: 4.5/5 for Prolongación Montejo (4,540 reviews, via Wanderlog) and 4.3/5 for Galerías (1,098 reviews, via Restaurant Guru). TripAdvisor scores are lower, but they rest on a dozen reviews or so.

The TripAdvisor listing at Calle 60 No. 299-A, near km 0.5 of the Progreso road, has an address that matches the Galerías branch. TripAdvisor does not name the branch, though, so I list it separately.

Carl’s Jr Merida reviews, checked October 13, 2026: Prolongación Montejo 4.5/5 on Google (4,540 reviews) vs 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor (12), Galerías 4.3/5 on Google (1,098), TripAdvisor’s Calle 60 listing 3.7/5 (13), Rappi 3.9 across Mérida. What reviewers like

Diners at Prolongación Montejo praise fast staff, clean rooms and burgers that arrive hot (Wanderlog). At Galerías, they mention quick service, cleanliness and parking (Restaurant Guru). TripAdvisor reviewers describe thick burgers, table service after you order, English-speaking staff and a very clean dining room.

What reviewers criticize

Complaints are rarer in what I could read. The clearest one targets the lemonade at Galerías. Rappi’s 3.9 across its Mérida listings sits well below the Google scores. My read: eating in beats delivery here, though a delivery-app score also rates the courier, not only the kitchen.

Carl’s Jr. delivery in Mérida

You can order Carl’s Jr. for delivery in Mérida on Rappi, which lists 10 Mérida entries rated 3.9. The franchisee’s own site sends customers to Rappi for delivery. I found no verified Carl’s Jr. listing for Mérida on Uber Eats or DiDi Food.

Which Carl’s Jr. should you choose in Mérida?

Pick the Centro branch if you are in the historic center: one block from the Plaza Grande, 135 seats, and the newest dining room of the lot. Pick Prolongación Montejo if you are in the north or want the branch with the most reviews behind its score. Heading to the coast? The Xcanatún branch on the Progreso highway is on your way.

My honest view: Carl’s Jr. is a familiar fast-food stop, not a reason to come to Mérida. The city eats Yucatecan first, with cochinita pibil and a bowl of habanero salsa on the table, and I would spend at least one meal on that before any chain burger. For that cooking at its most ambitious, read our review of K’u’uk, Pedro Evia’s Yucatecan restaurant. Our Mérida burger guide maps the Centro, Paseo de Montejo and the northern districts. Heading east? Our Carl’s Jr Cancun guide covers the chain’s branches on the coast.
