Privacy policy
Burger Breton collects no personal data and sets no cookies. We only measure anonymous, aggregated visit statistics. Here is exactly what that means.
The short version
Burger Breton asks you for nothing and does not try to find out who you are. There are no accounts, forms, newsletters or ads, and the site sets no cookies. We only measure traffic, anonymously and in aggregate, to see which articles people read.
Data controller
The site is published by BBF (Burger Breton France); full details are in the legal notice. For any question about your data, email hello@burgerbreton.com.
Traffic statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first statistics tool.
- No cookies, no local storage: nothing is stored on or read from your device to recognize you.
- No individual tracking: no fingerprinting, no tracking across visits or across websites.
- What is measured: the page viewed, the referring site, country, device type, browser, operating system and page load times.
- IP address: your browser sends it to Cloudflare when loading the measurement script, but it is not used to identify you.
- Aggregated results: we only see totals, such as the number of visits to a recipe, never one person’s path through the site.
These statistics help us understand which content is useful and keep the site fast. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, no consent banner is shown. A content blocker can turn this measurement off without affecting your reading.
Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States) acts as our processor and is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Hosting
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like any web server, it receives visitors’ IP addresses and records them in technical logs for security purposes. We have no access to those logs. See the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Embedded maps
Some restaurant guides show OpenStreetMap maps. Your browser loads them directly from the OpenStreetMap Foundation’s servers, which then receive your IP address. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
Cookies
Burger Breton sets no cookies: no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no social media buttons.
External links
Our articles link to other websites (restaurants, sources, partners). Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read.
Your rights
We hold no data that can identify you. Under the GDPR you still have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. To exercise them, email hello@burgerbreton.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country, or with the CNIL in France.
Changes
We update this policy whenever our tools change. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
