Best Burgers in Mexico City: 10 Restaurants Ranked for 2026
Where to eat the best burgers in Mexico City in 2026: 10 picks from Roma Norte to Polanco, with addresses, signature burgers and prices in pesos.

The best burgers in Mexico City in 2026 are at Butcher & Sons in Roma Norte, which has led the city’s gourmet burger scene since 2012, and at La Burguesa on Calle Cozumel, known for its lamb and Camembert burger. For the best smash burger in Mexico City, go to Chicago Bernie’s Beef Bike in San Rafael. For a chef’s burger, book Havre 77 in Juárez. Seven of the ten picks below are in Roma Norte, Condesa or Juárez, a short walk or Metrobús ride apart.
How I ranked the best burgers in Mexico City
I built this ranking by cross-checking the most recent local and international burger guides, then checking that each venue was still trading in 2026. The sources are InStyle México (28 May 2026), Comer y Beber’s 2026 guide (14 July 2026), CDMX Secreta (26 May 2025), México Desconocido (2024), Food and Pleasure, Chilango, Time Out México and The Infatuation. I checked every fact below on 8 October 2026.
One thing up front: I did not eat my way through this list for this edition. It is built from the record. That is why you will find no Google or Tripadvisor star ratings here, since I took no dated reading of them, and why a peso price only appears where a dated source gives one, with the source named. Places that other lists still recommend but that have closed are left out (see the closures section below).
Mexico City’s best burgers at a glance
Here is the 2026 top 10 in one table: the restaurant, its neighbourhood (colonia) and the burger to order. If you only have time for one burger meal, stay in Roma Norte: Butcher & Sons and La Burguesa are a short walk apart.

The 10 best burger restaurants in Mexico City
Ten picks, in ranking order, each with its address and the burger to order.
1. Butcher & Sons, Roma Norte: the gourmet pioneer since 2012
Butcher & Sons is the best all-round burger restaurant in Mexico City and the one that started the city’s gourmet burger scene. It opened its first location around 2012. Comer y Beber’s 2026 guide still calls it the pioneer “since 2012”.
Order the Bowie, which pairs the patty with roasted poblano peppers and a fried tortilla. It is the most Mexican burger in this guide. The Hendrix adds BBQ sauce and caramelised onion. Burgerman, Chilango’s burger columnist, put the patties at about 120 g.
Why number one after fourteen years? Because it has not stood still. There is a monthly Hamburguesa del Mes, and its chef collaborations have brought in teams from Pujol and Contramar, two of the city’s most famous kitchens (The Infatuation, June 2021). Vegetarians get the Yorke, a plant-based burger.
- Address: Orizaba 87, Roma Norte, Cuauhtémoc, 06700 CDMX
- Other branches: Polanco, Artz Pedregal and Condesa, per the official site
- Website: butcherandsons.com
2. La Burguesa, Roma Norte: the lamb and Camembert burger
La Burguesa makes the city’s most distinctive gourmet burger: La Fuerte, a lamb patty with creamed spinach and Camembert. It opened in 2012 on a quiet block of Calle Cozumel. It was still on InStyle México’s list on 28 May 2026.
The menu is short, about six burgers. Leave room for the house ice cream flavoured with Gansito, the Mexican snack cake.
- Address: Cozumel 67 (between Colima and Durango), Roma Norte, Cuauhtémoc, CDMX
3. Chicago Bernie’s Beef Bike, San Rafael: the best smash burger in Mexico City
Chicago Bernie’s is the smash burger address the local press cites most often, and my pick for the best smash burger in Mexico City. It started in 2019 selling burgers from a bicycle, the “beef bike” in its name. Today it has two counters.
The headline act is the 4/20: six smashed patties and six slices of cheese, stacked (InStyle México, 2026). For a regular lunch, order a single or a double.
What a smash burger looks like: thin patties pressed onto a very hot griddle so the edges turn crisp and brown, the style Chicago Bernie’s, Bobo Burgers and Secret Burger serve in Mexico City. - Address: Ignacio Manuel Altamirano 86, San Rafael, Cuauhtémoc, 06470 CDMX
- Second location: Londres 251, Juárez

4. Havre 77, Juárez: a chef’s burger in a French brasserie
Havre 77 serves the best-reviewed chef’s burger in Mexico City, inspired by French onion soup. Chef Eduardo García of Máximo Bistrot opened the brasserie in a restored 19th-century house. The Infatuation (7 August 2024) wrote that “the burger is amazing” and put the restaurant in its top price bracket ($$$$).
This is a sit-down meal, not a quick bite. Come for a long comida (the mid-afternoon main meal) and expect a bill to match.
- Address: Havre 77, Juárez, Cuauhtémoc, 06600 CDMX
5. The Palm, Polanco: the 400 g Prime Burger
The Palm is where to go for a premium, steakhouse-style burger in Mexico City. Its Prime Burger is a 400 g USDA Prime patty on a toasted brioche bun. You choose cheddar, gouda or Danish blue, and it comes with fries.
The steakhouse sits inside the Presidente InterContinental hotel. The brand itself dates back to New York in 1926. It also serves a 300 g vegan burger, rare in this price bracket (Grupo Presidente, April 2026).

- Address: Presidente InterContinental, Campos Elíseos 218, Polanco, Miguel Hidalgo, CDMX
6. Bobo Burgers, Condesa: smash burgers and natural wine
Bobo Burgers is one of the youngest names in this top 10 and the best burger in Condesa for an evening out. It opened in the first week of May 2024. Founders Carlos and Valeria took In-N-Out as their model, and chef Valeria Velásquez wrote the menu around grass-fed prime beef.
The twist is the wine list. Burgers are paired with natural wines, including a house cuvée called “Bobo”: a Garnacha from Mexico’s Valle de Guadalupe made with Radicante.
On the Rappi delivery app in October 2026, the Bobo Burger was 154 MXN, the Oklahoma Style Smash Burger 210 MXN and the Wagyu Burger XO 394 MXN. Delivery prices usually run higher than in the restaurant, so treat them as a ceiling.
- Address: Av. Tamaulipas 125, Hipódromo Condesa, Cuauhtémoc, 06170 CDMX
- Other locations: Cerrada Jalapa 110 (Roma Norte) and Georgia 42 (Nápoles)
7. Soul La Roma, Roma Norte: the fondue burger
Soul La Roma’s Sauber is the burger to order if you want theatre at the table. Staff pour a cheese fondue over it as it is served. Chilango described it in 2019 as Emmental and Gruyère with duck bacon. Chef Roberto de la Parra wrote the menu.
The most recent sources I found are from before 2026. Check that it is open before you cross town.
- Address: Tabasco 101, corner of Mérida, Roma Norte, Cuauhtémoc, CDMX
8. Secret Burger, Narvarte: the speakeasy burger
Secret Burger is a burger speakeasy with no sign, in a house in Narvarte Poniente. You ring the bell next to the Mercado 24 de Agosto. An engineer founded it in 2020. The burgers are smashed Angus patties on brioche, with house-made sauces.
The special is stuffed with cheddar and blue cheese, with fondue as an option. Chilango (25 January 2024) put the average spend at about 300 MXN per person.
Press sources give two different street numbers on Calle Anaxágoras, and I found no dated 2026 confirmation that it is open. Confirm both before you go.
- Area: Narvarte Poniente, Benito Juárez, CDMX, next to Mercado 24 de Agosto
9. La Patties, Santa María la Ribera: a smash burger outside the tourist zone
La Patties is the best reason to take your burger hunt north to Santa María la Ribera. The Pattie is a 130 g patty with American and Swiss cheese, house pickles, caramelised onion and bacon jam. It was listed at 200 MXN on Rappi in October 2026.
Its Lahamburguesa is a nod to the city’s street burger stands, according to InStyle México. Its only dated 2026 trace is the Rappi listing, so check that it is open before you go.
- Address: C. Sabino 181, Santa María la Ribera, Cuauhtémoc, 06400 CDMX
10. Chubbies Burger, Juárez: from dark kitchen to counter
Chubbies Burger is the pandemic success story of the Mexico City burger scene. Rodrigo Torices and Gustavo Stommel launched it as a delivery-only dark kitchen in 2020. It now has a counter in Juárez. The burgers are gorditos, thick rather than smashed, and a monthly collaboration burger keeps regulars coming back. InStyle México listed it in 2026.
- Address: Liverpool 179, Juárez, Cuauhtémoc, CDMX

Close calls
Three more names kept coming up in the guides I read, but I did not find enough dated detail to rank them:
- Indómita Burger Social Club: Miguel E. Schultz 7, San Rafael.
- We Love Burgers: wlb.mx.
- Chilanga Burger: in Portales.

- Condesa: Bobo Burgers on Tamaulipas and a Butcher & Sons branch.

Mexico City street burgers: the hamburguesa al carbón
The hamburguesa al carbón is Mexico City’s own street burger, charcoal-grilled at stands that mostly open in the evening. Stands usually sell three builds:
- Sencilla: a single patty.
- Doble: a double patty.
- Hawaiana: adds ham, melted cheese and grilled pineapple.
The cheese is usually Mexican manchego, a mild melting cheese that has little in common with the Spanish manchego.
In Roma Norte, Hamburguesas a la Parrilla grills at the corner of Morelia and Colima, mostly at night. An older Time Out listing put its burgers at 35 to 44 MXN, so expect more today. The north of the city, around La Villa and Lindavista, is the classic street-burger area. My Mexico City burger hub has the basics on the al carbón stands.
How much does a burger cost in Mexico City?
At a sit-down burger restaurant in Mexico City, the dated prices in this guide run from 154 MXN to 394 MXN per burger. The one dated per-person figure I found is Chilango’s: about 300 MXN at Secret Burger in January 2024. Street burgers al carbón cost far less.
How much a burger costs in Mexico City: dated prices from 154 MXN (Bobo Burger) to 394 MXN (Wagyu Burger XO). Rappi app prices from October 2026; Secret Burger’s 300 MXN is Chilango’s January 2024 estimate of average spend per person. Restaurant prices are often lower than app prices. (Chart: Burger Breton, rendered with QuickChart (Chart.js); data from Rappi (October 2026) and Chilango (January 2024))
Menu prices include 16% VAT (IVA). At sit-down restaurants, a tip of 10 to 15% is customary. I did not publish a menu price where I could not find a dated, verifiable one, which includes The Palm and Havre 77.
Mexico City burger closures to know about
Mr. Blanco’s, the slider bar in Condesa and Juárez, has closed. Founder Daniel Delaney says it ran from 2020 to 2025 and no longer has any open location. Some 2024 and 2025 lists still recommend it, which is one reason this guide is dated and re-checked.
