Best Burgers in São Paulo: 10 Restaurants Ranked for 2026
Holy Burger, ranked the world's No. 2 burger in 2026, leads our São Paulo top 10: addresses, signature burgers, prices in reais and sources.

The best burger in São Paulo in 2026 is at Holy Burger in Vila Buarque. Burgerdudes’ The World’s Best Burgers 2026 ranks it No. 2 in the world and No. 1 in the Americas. Behind it I put Grindhouse Braserito in Pinheiros, an Argentine ember grill that made two international lists this year, and Buzina Burgers, named Brazil’s best burger of 2025 by the Hambúrguer Perfeito guide. Ten restaurants made my list. For each one you get the full address, the signature burger, a price in Brazilian reais (R$) where a 2026 source confirms it, and the sources behind the pick.

How I ranked São Paulo’s burger restaurants
This ranking is my editorial synthesis of verified awards and press coverage, not a third-party list. I have not eaten at these ten restaurants for this guide, so every fact below comes from a cited source. International rankings weigh most: Burgerdudes’ The World’s Best Burgers 2026 and World’s 101 Best Burger Places 2026. National guides come next (McCain Hambúrguer Perfeito, Ranking Burger Fest, Taste BR), then the counters that have been cooking burgers since the 1960s. I kept those two old-timers in on purpose. A city’s burger culture is more than its award winners.
I took the Burgerdudes positions from Brazilian press coverage (CNN Brasil, April 29, 2026 and Catraca Livre, April 30, 2026), because the full ranking page wouldn’t load for me. Addresses come from BaresSP listings and the press articles cited in each entry, checked on October 8, 2026. 2026 press confirms that Holy Burger, Grindhouse Braserito, Buzina, Z Deli and Chimichurri Parrilla are open. For the other five, check the Google listing or a recent Instagram post before you go.
1. Holy Burger: the world’s No. 2 burger in 2026
Holy Burger is São Paulo’s best burger restaurant by international standing. It placed second of 25 in Burgerdudes’ The World’s Best Burgers 2026, and first in the Americas, according to CNN Brasil. It started as a pop-up in 2013 before settling in Vila Buarque. Chef Filipe Fernandes has written the menu since a 2019 overhaul (São Paulo Secreto).
The Pony Line, São Paulo’s dry-aged burger
The Pony Line is Holy Burger’s signature: a 45-day dry-aged beef patty with cheddar and a bacon molasses made with sugarcane molasses. CNN Brasil lists it at R$85. That’s the only price I could confirm, from a single source, so expect it to have moved. It’s also the highest price I found for any burger on this list. If you have room for only one burger meal in São Paulo, this is still the one I’d plan around.

2. Grindhouse Braserito: an Argentine parrilla burger in Pinheiros
Grindhouse Braserito is the São Paulo burger for live-fire fans. Argentine chef Santi Roig opened it in 2023 and cooks everything over fire and embers. It ranked 11th in Burgerdudes 2026, down from 7th in 2025, and 89th in World’s 101 Best Burger Places 2026 (Portal Tela). Even after a four-place drop, it is one of only two São Paulo restaurants on the Burgerdudes list.
Burgerdudes World’s Best Burgers ranking, 2025 vs 2026: Holy Burger climbed from No. 3 to No. 2 (No. 1 in the Americas), while Grindhouse Braserito moved from No. 7 to No. 11 (Chart: Burger Breton, original (CC BY 4.0); data: CNN Brasil, April 29, 2026)
The signature Hamburguesa de Costilla is grilled over embers, brushed with Argentine salmuera (a salt brine) and served rare. Only rare: if you want yours well done, order something else. Burgers run R$44–74, according to Travel.com.br. That’s a single source, so treat the range as a guide. Into Argentine burger culture? Compare it with the fast-food version in my Mostaza Salta guide.

3. Buzina Burgers: Brazil’s best burger of 2025
Buzina Burgers was voted “Melhor Hambúrguer do Brasil 2025” (Brazil’s best burger) by the Hambúrguer Perfeito guide, which has also crowned it São Paulo champion twice (BaresSP). Chefs Márcio Silva and Jorge Gonzalez started it as a food truck in 2013 and opened a permanent restaurant in 2017.
Two burgers define the menu. El Burger stacks a 170 g (6 oz) patty, sobrasada, queijo prato (a mild Brazilian cheese), bacon and an egg on brioche. The Buzina puts American cheddar, chopped bacon, aioli and fries inside the bun itself. I’d start with El Burger, for the sobrasada, a spreadable cured pork sausage from Mallorca. To bake a brioche-style bun like these at home, try our homemade burger buns recipe.

4. Xepa: São Paulo’s best burger in the 2024 McCain ranking
Xepa was named São Paulo’s best burger, and Brazil’s second best, in the McCain Hambúrguer Perfeito 2024 ranking (BaresSP). It’s a bar that calls its cooking “média gastronomia”, somewhere between casual and fine dining. Chef-driven burgers share the menu with smash burgers. I couldn’t confirm a single signature burger, so look at the current menu before you go.
- Address: Rua Jaguaribe, 529, Santa Cecília, São Paulo
- Before you go: I found no 2026 press confirming it is open; check its Google listing first.
5. Z Deli Sandwiches: a New York deli burger in Pinheiros
Z Deli Sandwiches serves a thick New York deli-style burger on house-baked bread. Its roots go back to Z Deli, a Jewish delicatessen that opened in the Jardins in 1981. The patty is 170 g (6 oz) of Angus and Hereford beef. Besides the NYC burger, there’s a lamb burger and a pastrami burger (Portal Tela, May 28, 2026). Given the deli pedigree, the pastrami burger is the one I’d order.
- Pinheiros address: Rua Francisco Leitão, 16, Pinheiros, São Paulo; phone (11) 2305-2200
- Downtown address: Rua Bento Freitas, 314, República
- Other locations: Oscar Freire and Itaim, according to Portal Tela in May 2026
6. Chimichurri Parrilla: the minimalist cheeseburger
Chimichurri Parrilla in Perdizes makes the most stripped-back burger on this list, and Taste BR named it São Paulo’s best in 2024 (São Paulo Secreto). A 180 g (6.3 oz) Angus patty, cooked rare. Cheese. A bun toasted on the parrilla grill. Nothing else. It’s the purist’s answer to Grindhouse’s ember-grilled burger, and the place I’d send anyone who thinks toppings hide weak beef.
- Address: Avenida Professor Alfonso Bovero, 730, Perdizes, São Paulo
7. Pantcho’s House Burger: an award winner from the south side
Pantcho’s House Burger shows that one of Brazil’s best burgers can come from São Paulo’s southern periphery, a long way from Pinheiros. Its Made in Pantchos took second place for best burger in Brazil in the 2024 Ranking Burger Fest (Gazeta SP). It comes with house-made bacon glazed in honey, curry ketchup and a black garlic and sesame mayonnaise.
- Address (BaresSP): Avenida Manuel Alves Soares, 404, Parque Colonial, São Paulo, SP, 04821-270. Press coverage calls the area Jardim Colonial, so confirm the pin on Google Maps.
8. Hambúrguer do Seu Oswaldo: the oldest burger counter in this ranking
Hambúrguer do Seu Oswaldo, founded in 1966, is the oldest restaurant in this guide. Oswaldo Paolicchi (1930–2008) started it in Ipiranga (Gazeta SP). The style is old school: thin 90 g (3.2 oz) patties cooked well done, a house tomato sauce and a mayonnaise made to a secret recipe. The family claims it was the first place in town to put tomato sauce on burgers.

- Address: Rua Bom Pastor, 1659, Ipiranga, São Paulo
- Hours: Monday–Saturday, noon–10 p.m.
- Payment: debit cards and Pix only, no credit cards
9. Osnir Hamburger: a family burger tradition since 1969
Osnir Hamburger has served São Paulo since 1969, when Osnir Zerbinatti opened it on Praça da Árvore. Its handmade mayonnaise is a registered trademark (Jornal do Brás). For its 55th anniversary the house created the Cheese Salada Clássico 55 anos, with a 130 g (4.6 oz) patty. Check that it’s still on the menu.
- Historic address: Avenida Jabaquara, 550, Mirandópolis, São Paulo
- Other locations: Paraíso, Pompeia, Vila Zelina, Campo Belo, and Rua Caravelas, 287, Vila Mariana
10. Big Kahuna Burger: the Pulp Fiction burger joint
Big Kahuna Burger is São Paulo’s movie-themed burger joint, built around Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction from the decor to the menu. Renato Veras Jr. founded it in 2013 (Guia da Semana). The burger to look for is the Ezekiel 25:17, named after Jules’ Bible-quoting speech; only one source describes it, so check the menu. It ranks tenth because the theme, not an award, is what put it on the map.
- Address: Alameda Lorena, 53, Jardim Paulista, São Paulo, SP, 01424-000
Honorable mention: Osso, a dry-aged burger in Itaim Bibi
Osso is the upscale pick for a dry-aged burger in São Paulo. It is the restaurant of Peruvian butcher Renzo Garibaldi and is listed in the Michelin Guide. It offers sliders or a 180 g (6.3 oz) wagyu burger. If one of the ten has closed by the time you visit, this is where I’d go instead. Address: Rua Bandeira Paulista, 520, Itaim Bibi, São Paulo, SP, 04532-001.
Best São Paulo burger joints by neighborhood
Pinheiros has the most standout burgers in one neighborhood: Grindhouse Braserito, Buzina and Z Deli are a short walk apart, which makes it the obvious base for a burger crawl. Vila Buarque and Santa Cecília, next to downtown, have Holy Burger and Xepa. The Jardins have Big Kahuna. For history, go south: Seu Oswaldo in Ipiranga, Osnir in Mirandópolis.
