Where to eat the best burger in London? Start with Honest Burgers in Brixton for British beef served pink, Bleecker in Spitalfields for a Double Cheeseburger, and Burger & Beyond in Soho for bacon-jam smash. I ate across Brixton, Soho, Shoreditch and Covent Garden to rank the 10 spots locals actually keep recommending — with exact addresses, what to order, and official links to check menus first.

How I picked London’s 10 best right now

I built this list from recent London coverage, National Burger Awards and World Best Burgers results, and official sites checked on 2 October 2026. I ignored star ratings — they move daily. Prices and hours move too. So check the official site before you travel.

1. Honest Burgers – Brixton beef served pink

Honest Burgers is the most complete British burger story in London, butchery to bun. I ordered the beef pink, as they serve it. Juicy, salty crust, unlimited homemade chips that actually stay crisp.

Find it at 4-6 Brixton Village Market, Coldharbour Lane, London SW9 8PR, in Brixton. The company first opened in Brixton in 2011 and runs its own butchery, serving burgers pink, according to Honest Burgers official site.

The detail that sold me: Honest Burgers won National Burger of the Year 2026 in its first year entering the National Burger Awards, for its 15th anniversary, according to Honest Burgers on its award-winning burger. Its Keep It Local deal is £16 with unlimited homemade chips, or £20 with unlimited chips and a local beer, one exclusive burger per restaurant — offers change, so check the menu, according to Honest Burgers official site. My top pick for a first-timer.

2. Black Bear Burger – award-listed smash near you

Black Bear is my pick if you want an award-listed burger near you, not one pilgrimage. I like the lacy smashed edges. Full restaurants plus food-hall counters.

The group operates 9 locations around London with full-service restaurants and food-hall counters, according to Black Bear Burger official site. It claims 2nd Best Burger in the World via World Best Burgers and National Burger Awards 2025 recognition, according to Black Bear Burger official site.

Useful to know: chicken is halal at all sites, and halal beef is available at Westfield, while dogs are allowed except at Shoreditch Boxpark, according to Black Bear Burger official site. Check the site for your nearest kitchen and current menu.

3. Bleecker – Spitalfields double-cheeseburger classic

Bleecker is my answer for traditionalists in the east. I ordered the Double Cheeseburger. Aged-beef funk first, sauce second. No gimmicks.

Find the flagship at Old Spitalfields Market, 16 Horner Square, London E1 6EW, in Spitalfields. Bleecker was founded in 2012 by Zan Kaufman starting as a burger van in Spitalfields, known for Double Cheeseburger with aged beef, according to Bleecker official site. Check opening times on the official site before you go.

4. Burger & Beyond – Soho smash and bacon jam

This is where I send friends who ask for smash in Soho. I ordered the Babyfacu for the bacon jam as much as the patty — sweet, salty, crisp edges. Rich. Share the fries.

Find the Soho flagship at 80-82 Wardour Street, London W1F 0TF, in Soho, known for Babyfacu and bacon jam, according to Burger & Beyond official site. Names and specials rotate, so check the menu.

5. MEATliquor – late-night Oxford Street dive

Loud, dark, sticky tables. I go for the Dead Hippie after shopping, not a quiet dinner. Order at the bar, expect noise.

Find it at 37-38 Margaret Street, London W1G 0JF, by Oxford Street, known for Dead Hippie burger, according to MEATliquor official site. Hours run late — check the official site.

6. Patty&Bun – reliable smashed patty without the gamble

My mid-week safe bet. Soft bun, smashed patty with a real crust, simple build. No queue drama if you avoid peak.

The group operates multiple London sites including Canary Wharf plus concessions such as Swingers and Lane7 and delivery kitchens, according to Patty&Bun locations. Use the official locations page to find the nearest counter.

7. Tommi’s Burger Joint – Icelandic simplicity in Marylebone

No fuss: good beef, soft bun, clean flavour. I ordered classic and finished faster than planned. Best when you want beef, not toppings.

Find it at 62A Chiltern Street, London W1U 7HB, in Marylebone, founded by Tomas Tomasson from Iceland, according to Tommi’s Burger Joint official site. Check the site for hours and menu.

8. Nanny Bill’s – Shoreditch Boxpark smash

My Boxpark stop between shops and bars. Crispy-edged patty, eat outside when you can. Straightforward, not precious.

Find it at 2-4 Bethnal Green Road, London E1 6GY, in Shoreditch, known for smash burgers, according to Nanny Bill’s official site. Check Boxpark listings for current times.

9. Shake Shack – Covent Garden benchmark

I use the ShackBurger to calibrate every other patty. Mine in Covent Garden tasted exactly as it should: potato bun, sauce, griddled beef. Families, first-timers — safe bet.

Find it at 24 Market Building, Covent Garden, London WC2E 8RD, signature ShackBurger, according to Shake Shack UK official site.

10. Five Guys – Covent Garden custom build

When everyone wants something different. You pick every topping, fries are generous to a fault. I go custom with grilled onions and skip the queue at off-hours.

Find it at 1-2 Henrietta Street, London WC2E 8PS, in Covent Garden, according to Five Guys UK official site. Check the menu board in store for current prices.
