Five Guys London: Covent Garden Address, Menu, Hours and Reviews
The UK's first Five Guys opened at 1-3 Long Acre in 2013. Verified address, hours, menu, reviews and the other central London branches.

The best-known Five Guys in London is Five Guys Burgers and Fries Covent Garden, at 1-3 Long Acre, London WC2E 9LH (phone 020 7046 7840). It opened on 4 July 2013, the first Five Guys in the UK. According to the Covent Garden district website, it opens at 10:30am every day and closes at 11:30pm Monday to Thursday, midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 10:30pm on Sunday. TripAdvisor gives it 3.9/5 from about 2,800 reviews. The chain now has close to 50 branches in Greater London, but this is the original. It’s also the one most visitors pass in the West End.
I checked every detail here on 7 October 2026 against the official Five Guys UK locator, the UK menu, allergen and halal pages, the Covent Garden district website, TripAdvisor and the trade press. Each fact names its source. Where I couldn’t confirm something, such as most prices, I say so and leave it out.

Five Guys London opening hours
Five Guys Covent Garden opens at 10:30am daily and stays open latest on Friday and Saturday, until midnight. These hours come from the Covent Garden district website, checked on 7 October 2026:
| Day | Opening hours |
|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 10:30am – 11:30pm |
| Friday and Saturday | 10:30am – midnight |
| Sunday | 10:30am – 10:30pm |
Check on the day. The official locator loads its hours dynamically and I couldn’t read them there. Time Out’s 2013 opening listing gave a 2am weekend close, so the hours have changed at least once. Midnight still leaves time for a burger after a West End show, which is when I’d go.
In December 2019, Five Guys launched a breakfast menu in four restaurants, Covent Garden among them (The Caterer). Whether Covent Garden still serves it in 2026, and at what times, I couldn’t confirm.
Five Guys London menu: what’s on it
The Five Guys London menu is the national UK menu: burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, milkshakes and bottomless soft drinks. The official UK menu lists:
- Burgers in regular and Little sizes, built to order with up to 15 free toppings. Five Guys claims “more than 250,000 possible topping combinations”.
- Hot dogs and sandwiches, including a BLT.
- Breakfast (egg, cheese, bacon) at participating restaurants.
- Fries, Five Guys style or Cajun, hand-cut every day and cooked in 100% refined peanut oil.
- Milkshakes on a vanilla base with mix-ins. A limited-edition Coffee Milkshake was listed when I checked.
- Bottomless soft drinks.
- A kids’ menu from £7.50.

Five Guys says its patties are 80/20 ground beef “with no additives or fillers” (nutrition and allergy page), and the locator page adds that its restaurants have “no freezers”. Visit London and the Covent Garden district site go further and call the beef Scottish, or Scottish and Irish. Neither the official menu nor the allergen page says so. Treat that as their claim, not the chain’s.
What to order at Five Guys on a first visit
Order a Little Hamburger or Little Cheeseburger and one portion of fries to share. The Little has one patty, the regular two, and for most people one is enough once the fries arrive. TripAdvisor reviewers keep calling the fries portions generous, so one bag between two is usually plenty. Go Cajun if you like seasoning. Curious about what goes into the burger? Clara takes it apart in her Five Guys cheeseburger copycat recipe and her Little Hamburger Five Guys copycat with one 80/20 patty.

Five Guys London prices in 2026
The only official London price I could verify is the kids’ menu, from £7.50 (official UK menu, checked 7 October 2026). Outside its ordering platform, Five Guys publishes no full price list. Unofficial price sites put a cheeseburger anywhere from £11.25 to £13.45, with no dates attached. I’ve left those figures out.
For today’s Covent Garden prices, open order.fiveguys.co.uk, pick 1-3 Long Acre and look before you pay. TripAdvisor puts the restaurant in its “$$ - $$$” band, and “expensive for what it is” is among the most common complaints. For how Five Guys stacks up against the big chains’ value menus, read our 2026 burger value wars analysis.
Five Guys Covent Garden reviews: what diners say
Five Guys Covent Garden is rated 3.9 out of 5 from about 2,800 TripAdvisor reviews and ranks #2,188 of 23,610 London restaurants (TripAdvisor, checked 7 October 2026; the figures change daily). I haven’t gathered Google, Yelp or Trustpilot ratings, so this summary rests on TripAdvisor alone.
| Recurring praise | Recurring criticism |
|---|---|
| Generous fries portions | Prices seen as high for the quality |
| Unlimited free toppings | Inconsistent from one visit to the next |
| Free peanuts while you wait | Weak vegetarian choice |
| Bottomless drinks | Service and cleanliness criticised by some |
| Clean, well-organised dining room | Buns go soggy under heavy toppings |
Verdict: is Five Guys Covent Garden worth it?
Worth a stop, not a pilgrimage. If you want a made-to-order American burger in the West End late at night, it does the job. A 3.9/5 score from thousands of reviews sums it up: dependable, generous and customisable, but pricey and uneven. That’s why I ranked it number 10 in our best burger restaurants in London, behind independents that cook with more character. One piece of advice: keep the toppings few and the wet sauces light, or the bun gives up halfway through.
The story of Five Guys in London
Five Guys came to Britain on 4 July 2013, and Covent Garden was its first restaurant outside North America (The Caterer, Wikipedia). According to Restaurant Online, the first customer turned up at 4am on opening day. The queue soon went round the block, and the restaurant became “the number one Five Guys in the world” (Restaurant Online, 2019).

Restaurant Online credits that success with the satellite branches that followed nearby: Charing Cross, Oxford Circus, Piccadilly and Tottenham Court Road. In 2019 the UK business was backed by Sir Charles Dunstone, founder of Carphone Warehouse, with John Eckbert as CEO of Five Guys UK. That December, about six and a half years after the launch, the 100th UK restaurant opened opposite St Paul’s Cathedral.
The chain itself dates from 1986, when Jerry and Janie Murrell opened the first restaurant in Arlington, Virginia. Five Guys now claims “more than 1,900 restaurants worldwide” (official story).
Other Five Guys locations in London
The official locator lists close to 50 Five Guys branches in Greater London (as of 7 October 2026). A few sit just outside Greater London proper, and one is a Deliveroo Editions delivery kitchen. Two of the closest to Covent Garden:
- Five Guys Piccadilly Circus: Unit 1/2, Coventry St, London W1D 7DH
- Five Guys Oxford Circus: Sutherland House, London W1F 7TE
Other branches include Baker Street, Bond Street, Brixton, Camden, Canary Wharf, Charing Cross, King’s Cross, Liverpool Street, St Paul’s, Tottenham Court Road, Tower Bridge, Victoria, Westfield London, Westfield Stratford, The O2 and Heathrow Terminal 5 (full official list). Five Guys or Shake Shack in Covent Garden?
Both are in Covent Garden, and they make different burgers. Five Guys gives you a two-patty burger, 15 free toppings and a big bag of peanut-oil fries. Shake Shack is known for its smashed patty and Shack sauce. Pick Five Guys to build your own burger and eat a lot of fries. Pick Shake Shack for a crustier smash burger. That’s my choice when I only have room for one. Shake Shack Covent Garden is also in our best burgers in London guide, and you can cook a ShackBurger at home with Clara’s ShackBurger copycat recipe.
