MOS Burger has at least seven restaurants in Hiroshima. If you’re arriving by train, use MOS Burger JR Hiroshima Station, open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Downtown, the Hatchobori branch is a 3-minute walk from the Hatchōbori streetcar stop. For a late meal, Danbara is listed as open until midnight. Since the July 15, 2026 price increase, a classic MOS Burger costs ¥500 and a Teriyaki Burger ¥490, tax included. One catch: Tabelog says the station branch takes no cards, no e-money and no QR payments. Bring cash.

I haven’t eaten at the Hiroshima branches yet, so you won’t find a rating of my own here. This guide is built from published listings and reviews (Tabelog, Gurunavi, Yahoo! Map, Retty, Wanderlog, Novacircle), MOS’s official menu and press releases, and the Japanese business press. Every address, opening time and score below names its source and was checked on October 10, 2026. Keep one thing in mind when reading scores: Tabelog rates much harder than Google, and a score in the low 3s there is ordinary.

Which MOS Burger in Hiroshima should you choose?

Pick the MOS Burger closest to where you’ll be that day. The branches don’t differ much in menu, but they differ a lot in hours and location.

  • Arriving or leaving by train: JR Hiroshima Station, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Yahoo! Map places it inside the ticket gates (see below).
  • Sightseeing downtown around Hondōri: Hatchobori, 3 minutes on foot from the Hatchōbori streetcar stop. It’s the most central branch I found.
  • Eating late or very early: Danbara, open 7 a.m. to midnight according to Wanderlog, with about five parking spaces.
  • Shopping, or traveling with kids: the Fuji Grand Hiroshima food court, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with plenty of seats.
  • Staying in Yokogawa: Fresta Yokogawa, 3 minutes from JR Yokogawa Station’s south exit, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

If I had one MOS meal in Hiroshima, it would be at Danbara. It has the longest hours and by far the most reviews, and its scores hold up.

I couldn’t check any of these hours on mos.jp, because the official branch pages didn’t load on October 10, 2026. Before a special trip, confirm them on the official MOS store search for Hiroshima Prefecture. The latest official branch count I found dates from July 2019: 33 MOS Burger restaurants across Hiroshima Prefecture. I found no 2026 figure.

MOS Burger at Hiroshima Station: inside or outside the gates?

MOS Burger JR Hiroshima Station is in Antré Marché Hiroshima, and it is probably inside the ticket gates. Yahoo! Map lists it as 在来改札内, meaning inside the gates of the conventional (non-Shinkansen) JR lines. Gurunavi only says it’s a 1-minute walk from the Shinkansen exit and doesn’t mention the gates. I can’t confirm that you can reach it without a ticket. Ask station staff before you tap out.

The branch opened on April 8, 2022. It has 30 seats, is fully non-smoking and offers takeout. Tabelog lists a budget under ¥999 and no credit cards, e-money or QR-code payments, so have yen in cash. MOS’s online ordering system lists this branch as shop 08180, so you can order ahead online.

It scores 3.05/5 on Tabelog (32 reviews) and 3.94/5 on Yahoo! Map (24 reviews), as of October 10, 2026. On Tabelog that’s average, nothing more. Yahoo! Map users are kinder, and for a counter you visit between trains, average is all you need.

MOS Burger near Hondōri: Hatchobori and Tokaichi

Hatchobori is the most central MOS Burger I found, close to the Hondōri shopping arcade. It’s 190 m (3 minutes) from the Hatchōbori streetcar stop, it takes PayPay, and Retty lists a budget under ¥1,000. I couldn’t confirm how far it is from Peace Memorial Park, so I won’t sell it as a Peace Park stop.

The Retty reviews are old but specific. One, from December 2023, mentions a kuroge wagyu burger, oni-pote fries and a coffee shake. Another, from August 2020, praises the fragrant grilled chicken and the generous mayonnaise and lettuce. Treat them as a feel for the place, not as today’s menu.

Tokaichi is 250 m (4 minutes) from the Tōkaichi-machi streetcar stop. It takes PayPay and has a smoking room, and one reviewer mentions free parking. It scores 3.1/5 on Novacircle, from only 7 reviews. Reviewers liked the friendly staff and the well-made fries but found the portions small and the burger “ordinary”. I’d only go out of my way for it if you’re staying nearby.

MOS Burger Danbara: open until midnight

MOS Burger Danbara is Hiroshima’s late-night MOS, open daily from 7 a.m. to midnight according to Wanderlog. It also has the strongest review record in the city: 3.9/5 on Google from 670 reviews and 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor from 9.

670 reviews is a far bigger sample than any other branch has. Reviewers describe a bright dining room with charging outlets added in a renovation, and the burgers they name most are the Spicy MOS Burger and the Chicken Cutlet Burger. Retty counts about five parking spaces next door and confirms PayPay. On foot, it’s 11 minutes (870 m) from the Hijiyama-shita stop. Wanderlog is my only source for the midnight closing, so check before you head out late.

MOS Burger Hiroshima review scores by branch, checked October 10, 2026: Danbara leads on volume with 3.9/5 from 670 Google reviews; Tabelog’s 3.05 for the station is ordinary on that harsher scale (Chart: Burger Breton, data from Google via Wanderlog, Yahoo! Map, Tabelog and Novacircle (checked 2026-10-10))

Fuji Grand and Fresta Yokogawa: for families and locals

The Fuji Grand Hiroshima branch is in the third-floor food court of the mall, open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. It scores 3.5/5 on Google (104 reviews). Reviewers mention the soft buns and how easy it is to find a seat, which matters with kids in tow.

Fresta Yokogawa sits inside a supermarket, 3 minutes from the south exit of JR Yokogawa Station. It has 24 seats and opens every day, holidays included, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. If you’re staying north of downtown, it’s a convenient breakfast stop.

MOS Burger Hiroshima menu and prices in 2026

A MOS Burger costs ¥500 and a Teriyaki Burger ¥490, tax included, under national prices in effect since July 15, 2026. According to Impress Watch and Jiji Press, it was the chain’s first increase since March 2025 and covered about 80% of the menu.

MOS Burger menu prices in Hiroshima in 2026, in yen with tax: MOS Burger ¥500, Teriyaki Burger ¥490, seafood rice burger ¥510; a burger with medium fries and drink ordered separately comes to ¥1,130 (Chart: Burger Breton, data from MOS official menus (mos.jp), Impress Watch and Jiji Press (checked 2026-10-09/10))

These prices come from MOS’s official Japanese and English menus and from the July 2026 price coverage, checked October 9–10, 2026. MOS notes that prices differ at some branches (一部店舗では価格が異なります), so the station and food-court counters may charge more. I couldn’t confirm post-July prices for the MOS Cheese Burger, Spicy MOS, most rice burgers, the Green Burger, the Soy Patty, shakes or set meals.

What to order at MOS Burger

Start with the classic MOS Burger and its meat sauce, then the Teriyaki Burger, which MOS dates to 1973. If you only try one thing you can’t get at home, make it a rice burger: a 1987 MOS invention that swaps the bun for pressed grilled rice. The ¥510 seafood kakiage version is on the official English menu. To make the teriyaki one back home, my colleague Clara has a copycat recipe for the MOS teriyaki burger.

Vegetarian and vegan options at MOS Burger

MOS Burger sells a fully plant-based burger, the Green Burger, launched in 2021 with no animal-derived ingredients. The Soy Patty, offered as a swap since 2015, is the other meat-free route. I couldn’t confirm either one’s 2026 price or whether every Hiroshima branch stocks them, and MOS warns that some items aren’t sold at every branch or at all hours.

Hiroshima’s MOS Burger history: MOSDO and the okonomiyaki burger

The first MOSDO, a joint MOS Burger × Mister Donut restaurant, opened in the Hiroshima area in 2010. According to a 2019 MOS press release and Gigazine’s 2010 report, it is at AEON Mall Hiroshima Fuchu in Fuchu-cho, just outside Hiroshima city. The second MOSDO didn’t follow until 2015, at Kansai International Airport.

The Fuchu MOSDO is on the first floor (ROJI Dining) at 2-1-1 Osu, Fuchu-cho, Aki-gun, open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (last order 8:30 p.m.). In December 2025, a local outlet reported a 60-minute weekday all-you-can-eat deal on donuts and MOS fries: ¥1,800 for adults, ¥800 for elementary-school children, free under 3. That report is nearly a year old. Check before you build an afternoon around it.

Hiroshima also got its own burger once. From July 4 to 17, 2019, MOS sold a seafood okonomiyaki-style burger, plus a rice-burger version, at all 33 branches in Hiroshima Prefecture for ¥380 each: squid-and-shrimp kakiage, cabbage, red pickled ginger and katsuobushi, in Otafuku Okonomi Sauce mixed with MOS sauce. It hasn’t returned. I found no Hiroshima-only MOS item on sale in October 2026.

MOS Burger or okonomiyaki in Hiroshima?

Eat okonomiyaki first. It’s what Hiroshima is known for, and no chain burger replaces a layered plate cooked on a griddle in front of you. MOS is the backup: a 7 a.m. breakfast before a train, a fast lunch at the station, a late snack once the okonomiyaki counters have closed. For that job it’s very good. A MOS Burger with medium fries and a medium drink comes to ¥1,130, there’s a branch near most places you’ll be, and the teriyaki and rice burgers are things you won’t find at a chain back home.

A short history of MOS Burger

Atsushi Sakurada founded MOS Burger. A test stand opened in March 1972 near Narimasu Station in Tokyo, and Mos Food Services was incorporated on July 21, 1972. The name was later read as “Mountain, Ocean, Sun”. At the end of June 2026, MOS had 1,308 restaurants in Japan, down from a peak of 1,321 in March 2025. According to Ryutsuu News, sales for the quarter to June 2026 were ¥24.636 billion, up 3.6%. My history of the hamburger explains how the American original became Japan’s teriyaki and rice burgers.
