Roses Burgers Rosario: The Best Burger in Rosario, Argentina?
Roses Burgers in Rosario: how the Roses family's pandemic delivery brand brought smash burgers to Pichincha and won Burgerpalusa 2025's public vote.

If you are looking for the best burger in Rosario, Argentina, start with Roses. The family-run smash-burger brand began as a delivery-only kitchen during the pandemic (2020–2021) and opened its first restaurant in Pichincha on 28 July 2023. Two results put it at the top of the city. In September 2025 its Black Truffle Burger won the public vote for best burger in Argentina at Burgerpalusa in Buenos Aires, and on 4 October 2026 Morfar ranked Roses number one among the 20 best burgers in Rosario.

Who founded Roses in Rosario?
Roses was founded by the Roses brothers, Argentines born in the United States who moved back to Argentina as children.
Who exactly was on the founding team depends on the source. The 2025 award coverage names three brothers: Nicolás, Thomas and Matías Roses. A 2023 On24 report names Nicolás Roses and Ramiro Aldaz. Morfar wrote in 2024 of three brothers plus one partner. I have asked the brand to confirm. Until it does, nobody gets a title here that the brand has not confirmed. No source calls any of them a chef.
Nicolás Roses is the family’s public voice. In 2023 he told On24: “Queremos convertirnos en un punto de referencia para los fanáticos de una buena hamburguesa acompañada con una cerveza.” In English: “We want to become a reference point for fans of a good burger with a beer.”
Why is it called Roses?
Rosés is the family’s surname, not the English word for the flower. According to Morfar, the logo comes from a 1960s candy factory owned by the founders’ great-grandfather. So a brand born on delivery apps in the 2020s carries the mark of a family business sixty years older.
From pandemic delivery to Pichincha: the Roses story
Roses spent about two and a half years on delivery and take-away before it opened a dining room of its own.
- Delivery (2020–2021). The brand launched during the pandemic as a delivery-only kitchen. On24 dates the start to 2020 in one article and 2021 in another, so I give both.
- Take-away. Roses then added take-away, still without a dining room, for about two and a half years in total.
- First restaurant (28 July 2023). The Pichincha restaurant at Alvear 14 bis opened on a Friday at 6 p.m., with about 130 seats in roughly 70 m² (750 sq ft), according to On24.
- More locations. Morfar’s 2026 ranking lists three addresses: Alvear 14 bis, San Martín 4063 and Eva Perón 8124.

Pichincha makes sense for a brand that sells burgers with beer. The old red-light district north of the centre is now Rosario’s bar quarter, and many of its old houses have been restored. Our Rosario burger city guide covers the neighbourhood and the rest of the city.

What is a smash burger, and why Roses does it
A smash burger is a ball of ground beef pressed flat on a very hot griddle, which gives a crisp, browned crust and a juicy inside.
The Roses brothers brought the style back from the United States, where they were born. Thin patties, a hard sear, plenty of crust: everything on the menu is built on that. The technique has gone global, from Junk’s smash burgers in Paris to Beyondburg in Bangalore. For its American roots, our history of the hamburger explains where the burger came from.

The Black Truffle Burger: Argentina’s public-vote winner
The Black Truffle Burger is a double smash burger with cheddar, portobello chutney, crispy bacon and a homemade truffled lactonesa on a brioche bun.
Lactonesa is an Argentine eggless mayonnaise made with milk instead of egg yolk. Roses makes its own and flavours it with truffle. The portobello chutney adds a sweet, earthy layer against the salty bacon and cheddar. Sources: Punto Biz and Infomercury.

On paper, it is a heavy stack for thin patties. Truffle, bacon, cheddar and a sweet chutney can easily bury the crust that a smash burger lives on, and that balance is what I would judge first.
I could not confirm whether the Black Truffle Burger is on the menu today. Check the brand’s official links before you go.
Burgerpalusa 2025: what Roses actually won
Roses won the public vote for best burger in Argentina at the 4th Burgerpalusa, while the expert-jury prize went to Pretextos of Mendoza.
That difference matters. Headlines in Rosario called it “the best burger in Argentina”, but the title came from festival-goers, not from a jury. The jury picked Pretextos’s “Sweet Bet”. Our Mendoza burger guide covers that city.
Burgerpalusa 2025 public vote vs expert jury: Black Truffle Burger by Roses (Rosario) won the public vote; Sweet Bet by Pretextos (Mendoza) won the jury prize. 100+ brands, 13,600+ visitors, about 30,000 burgers sold, Hipódromo de Palermo, Buenos Aires (Table: Burger Breton, data from On24 and Punto Biz (September 2025))
- Venue: Hipódromo de Palermo, Buenos Aires (coverage dated 22–24 September 2025).
- Crowd: more than 13,600 visitors over two days, about 30,000 burgers sold.
- Field: more than 100 brands entered, with finalists from eight provinces.
- Organizer: The Food Truck Store. Guest: George Motz, the American burger historian.
- Roses’s prize: a trophy, a burger kit and ARS 2,000,000 worth of Milkaut Professional cheddar.

Is Roses the best burger in Rosario?
Roses is the strongest documented contender for the best burger in Rosario in 2026: it tops Morfar’s local ranking and won the national public vote.
Morfar’s “Las 20 mejores hamburguesas de Rosario 2026”, published on 4 October 2026, puts Roses first. Morfar is open about its method: the ranking reflects its community and the author’s own taste. Add a public vote at a festival of more than 100 brands and you get the same answer from two independent crowds. Neither is a jury verdict.
My verdict comes with a caveat. I have not eaten at Roses yet, so this rests on the record, not on my palate. On that record, it is the burger I would plan a Rosario trip around. Go to the Pichincha original at Alvear 14 bis, order the Black Truffle Burger if it is still on, and have a beer with it, as the founders intended. Then try a carlito, Rosario’s own toasted ham-and-cheese sandwich with ketchup, created in 1953 at Cachito.

How I checked this profile
I did not rate Roses with a score. I compared the brand’s official links, two On24 reports (2023 and 2025), two Morfar pieces (2024 and 2026), Punto Biz and Infomercury, all checked on 8 October 2026. Where they conflict, on the founding year and the founding team, I show both versions. I left out prices, opening hours and phone numbers because I could not verify them with a date.
What else is on the Roses menu?
Besides the Black Truffle Burger, Morfar listed a triple-patty burger, a Philly cheesesteak, a veggie burger and waffle fries in March 2024.
- Biggie Burger: triple patty, double cheddar, pickle, lettuce, red onion, bacon and smoked mayo.
- Philly Cheesesteak: potato bun, six slices of cheddar, ribeye and sautéed onion.
- Honey Bastard (vegetarian): double XXL plant-based patty, mozzarella, coleslaw, honey mustard and onion rings.
- Sides: spinach-and-cheese bites, and waffle fries, plain or with cheddar and bacon.

Looking for Aramburu or Alo Féraud in Rosario?
Neither the restaurant Aramburu nor chef Alejandro “Alo” Féraud has a verified connection to Rosario.
Aramburu is Gonzalo Aramburu’s two-Michelin-star tasting-menu restaurant at Vicente López 1661, Recoleta, Buenos Aires, and it does not serve burgers. Féraud trained at École Ritz Escoffier in Paris, then opened Alo’s Bistro in Boulogne, Buenos Aires province, in 2014 and the smokehouse Bestia in 2017. The only link I found between the two is a pop-up dinner Féraud hosted for Aramburu at Alo’s. For burgers in the capital, see our Buenos Aires burger guide.
