Lotteria is the easiest way to taste Korea’s own take on the fast-food burger in Seoul, and you won’t have to look hard: Lotte GRS runs about 1,300 Lotterias across South Korea. For travelers, the branch to know is inside Seoul Station (롯데리아 서울역사점), open every day from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Order the Ria Bulgogi. It has been Lotteria’s signature since 1992 and cost ₩5,100 in October 2026. Most burgers on the menu sit between ₩3,800 and ₩9,200.

I built this guide from Lotteria’s price announcements in the Korean press, a third-party copy of the official Lotte Eatz menu and review data from Korean platforms, all checked on October 23, 2026. When a fact would not confirm, I say so. Nothing here is a guess.

Lotteria Seoul at a glance

Lotteria is South Korea’s oldest burger chain: it opened its first restaurant in Seoul on October 25, 1979, and it is the country’s first franchised fast-food brand.

The chain itself started in Tokyo in 1972 under the Lotte group and crossed to Korea seven years later. For the full company history and key figures, see our Lotteria brand profile.

Where Lotteria started: Sogong-dong, 1979

The first Lotteria in Korea opened on October 25, 1979, in Sogong-dong, a downtown Seoul neighborhood, next to the Lotte Department Store flagship. A hamburger cost ₩450. On opening day the restaurant took ₩178,000, roughly 400 burgers, according to Green Post Korea and Edaily.

Self-service was new to Korea then, and both papers tell the same story: some customers read “Self Service” on the wall and tried to order it, thinking it was a dish. They disagree on where that first counter stood. Green Post puts it on the ground floor near the Midopa overpass, Edaily in the basement.

The original restaurant closed around 2003, when the department store was renovated. A second branch, Sogong 2 (롯데리아 소공점, 소공2호점), then ran in the basement of the main Lotte Department Store, near exits 7 and 8 of Euljiro 1-ga station on Line 2.

I could not confirm that Sogong 2 is still open. On October 23, 2026, its Tabling listing had been removed and its DiningCode page returned an error. If you want to eat where Korean fast food began, check the branch on Lotte Eatz, Naver Map or Kakao Map before you go.

Lotteria Seoul Station: open from 4 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The Lotteria inside Seoul Station (롯데리아 서울역사점) opens every day from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., which makes it the branch to remember for an early KTX train or a late arrival on the AREX from Incheon Airport. It sits inside the station building, right next to a McDonald’s. It isn’t worth crossing the city for. It is simply the Lotteria you are most likely to walk past.

The branch offers takeout, delivery and breakfast sets, according to Tabling and DiningCode. It has no parking of its own; Tabling points to the station’s paid car park.

Platforms disagree on its exact street address, and on its phone number too (02-393-9375 on Tabling, 0507-1325-9375 on DiningCode). Inside the station, follow the signs to the food court area next to McDonald’s, or search 롯데리아 서울역사점 in Naver Map.

Lotteria Seoul Station reviews

Lotteria Seoul Station rates 4.0/5 on DiningCode (23 reviews) and 3.2/5 on Tabling (10 reviews) as of October 23, 2026. On Tabling, 10% of reviewers say “recommended”, 50% “good”, 40% “average” and 10% “bad”.

Reviewers praise the speed and the location, which is what you want in a train station. The recurring complaints are a lack of seats at rush hour and, on Wanderlog, meat that is sometimes dry and slow service. I could not read a Google, TripAdvisor or Naver rating for any Seoul branch, so none is quoted here.

Other Lotteria branches in Seoul

With about 1,300 restaurants in Korea, you will pass a Lotteria in most Seoul neighborhoods; the store finder in Lotte Eatz shows which one is open near you.

Job ads place branches at Lotte World Mall in Jamsil (basement level), at the L7 Hongdae hotel and near Gangnam Station. I could not verify their opening hours or phone numbers, so check each one in the app before making a detour.

Lotteria Seoul menu and prices (October 2026)

A Lotteria burger in Seoul costs between ₩3,800 for the Deri Burger and ₩9,200 for the Hanwoo Bulgogi, based on the official Lotte Eatz menu as copied by insideseoul.app between October 4 and 11, 2026.

The press confirms two of these prices. The Ria Bulgogi and the Ria Shrimp have both cost ₩5,100 since May 28, 2026, when Lotteria raised 22 burgers and other items by 2.9% on average (₩100 to ₩300 per item), as reported by the Korea Times and the Seoul Economic Daily. The other prices come from a third-party site and may differ slightly in the app or for delivery.

The Lotteria bulgogi burger and other Korean exclusives

The Lotteria bulgogi burger is the reason to eat here rather than at a global chain: it puts the sweet soy marinade of bulgogi, Korea’s classic marinated grilled beef, on a fast-food patty, and it has been on the menu since September 1992.

In 2004, Lotteria added the Hanwoo Bulgogi, presented as the first burger in the industry made with Hanwoo, Korean native beef. At ₩9,200 it is the most expensive burger on the menu, ₩4,100 more than the Ria Bulgogi. My advice: start with the ₩5,100 original, the one Korean customers have known for more than thirty years, and save the Hanwoo upgrade for a second visit.

Shrimp is the other Korean favorite. The Ria Shrimp sells at the same ₩5,100 as the Ria Bulgogi, and the Jeonju Bibim Rice Burger (₩7,500) borrows the flavors of bibimbap from the city of Jeonju.

New Lotteria burgers in 2026

Lotteria’s 2026 launches sold fast: two of them each passed about 1 million units in their first two weeks, according to Hankyung.

  • Whole Leg Crispy Chicken Burger (통다리 크리스피 치킨버거): the first launch of the year, at 210% of its sales target in its first week and past 1 million units in two weeks.
  • Ria Thick Shrimp (리아 두툼새우, ₩7,900): about 1 million units in two weeks, 242% of its target.
  • Ria Bulgogi Red and Ria Bulgogi Double Red (리아 불고기 레드): released September 3, 2026, with a bulgogi patty, a spicy red bulgogi sauce and shoestring fried potatoes; the Double Red adds cheese. Together with the Thick Shrimp, they passed 1.5 million units in two weeks.

Hankyung also reported that Lotteria ranked first among fast-food brands in the 2026 K-BPI, a Korean brand-power index. For other launches this year, see our roundup of new burgers in 2026.

Vegetarian options at Lotteria Korea

Lotteria has sold a meat-free burger in Korea, but I could not confirm one is on the menu in October 2026. The Ria Miracle Burger, with a wheat-protein patty, launched in February 2020 and sold about 2.2 million units in eight months. It was replaced in early 2023 by the Ria Miracle Burger II, a 100% plant-based soy patty with a soy, garlic and onion sauce, according to Green Queen and Vegconomist.

Check the Lotte Eatz menu before counting on it. I found no information on halal options.

How to order at Lotteria without speaking Korean

Most travelers can order at Lotteria in Seoul with the in-store kiosks or the Lotte Eatz app, Lotte GRS’s official platform for delivery, pickup, loyalty stamps and its store finder.

Pointing at a photo on the kiosk is often enough. When a screen is only in Korean, match the names against the Korean column of the menu table above. Lotte Eatz also runs app-only deals: Ria Day, for example, sold two Chicken Burgers for ₩5,500 instead of ₩9,000 in October 2026, and Ria Snack Time cut the Deri Burger price in the afternoon at participating branches. These offers change every month, so treat them as examples, not current deals.

Lotteria vs McDonald’s in Korea

Choose Lotteria in Korea for the local menu and McDonald’s for the burgers you already know. Lotteria’s line-up leans Korean: a bulgogi burger since 1992, a Hanwoo beef version since 2004, shrimp burgers and a rice burger.
