Hans im Glück has four burger restaurants in Stuttgart: Europaviertel at Lissabonner Straße 2, Milaneo at Mailänder Platz 7, Marienstraße at Marienstraße 3B and Caleido at Tübinger Straße 41-43. Every branch opens at 11:30 am, except Milaneo on Sundays, which opens at noon. On the February 2026 Stuttgart menu, a burger costs €11.50 to €17.90. Coming by train? Milaneo and Europaviertel are the closest, about a 10-minute walk from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof.

On 20 October 2026 I checked every address, phone number and opening time on the chain’s official pages, then lined the four branches up side by side. My short answer: between trains, pick Europaviertel. It is as close to the station as Milaneo, keeps the kitchen open an hour longer on Sundays and does not depend on a shopping mall’s opening times. For the wider picture, see our guide on where to eat burgers in Stuttgart.

Hans im Glück Stuttgart locations: the 4 addresses

Hans im Glück has four restaurants in Stuttgart. Two are in the Europaviertel, next to the main station. The other two are around the Das Gerber shopping centre, between Mitte and Stuttgart-Süd.

Location Address District Phone Best for
Europaviertel Lissabonner Straße 2, 70173 Stuttgart Europaviertel +49 711 28695492 The original Stuttgart branch, near the main station
Milaneo Mailänder Platz 7, 70173 Stuttgart (Milaneo mall) Europaviertel +49 711 25254395 A shopping break or a train stopover
Marienstraße Marienstraße 3B, 70178 Stuttgart Mitte, next to Das Gerber +49 711 25274604 Groups, a historic building
Caleido Tübinger Straße 41-43, 70178 Stuttgart Stuttgart-Süd +49 711 25246594 Dinner on Tübinger Straße

Each branch also has its own email address: europaviertel@hansimglueck.de, milaneo@hansimglueck.de, marienstrasse@hansimglueck.de and caleido@hansimglueck.de. The chain lists all four on its official locations page.

Hans im Glück Stuttgart opening hours

All four Hans im Glück restaurants in Stuttgart open at 11:30 am and close at 11 pm from Monday to Saturday. The kitchen takes its last orders one hour before closing time. Sundays are where the branches differ.

Location (Öffnungszeiten) Monday to Saturday Sunday
Europaviertel 11:30 am–11 pm (kitchen until 10 pm) 11:30 am–11 pm (kitchen until 10 pm)
Caleido 11:30 am–11 pm (kitchen until 10 pm) 11:30 am–11 pm (kitchen until 10 pm)
Marienstraße 11:30 am–11 pm (kitchen until 10 pm) 11:30 am–10 pm (kitchen until 9 pm)
Milaneo 11:30 am–11 pm (kitchen until 10 pm) noon–9 pm (kitchen until 8 pm)

These hours come from each restaurant’s official page, checked on 20 October 2026. Two branches deserve a phone call before you go. A third-party listing shows Caleido closed on Mondays and Sundays and open until midnight, which contradicts the official page; I have used the official hours. Milaneo is the odder case. Its page says it opens on Sundays, yet the Milaneo mall and its car park are closed that day, and I could not confirm how you get in.

Which Hans im Glück in Stuttgart should you choose?

Near the main station, go to Europaviertel, with Milaneo as the fallback. Marienstraße is the one for a large group in the city centre, and Caleido suits an evening in Stuttgart-Süd. The menu is the same in all four branches, so the choice comes down to location, Sunday hours and the room.

Burger near Stuttgart main station: Milaneo and Europaviertel

Milaneo and Europaviertel are both about a 10-minute walk from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof, and the Stadtbibliothek Stadtbahn stop is about 3 minutes from either. Europaviertel was the chain’s first Stuttgart restaurant. According to the official page, it stands on the former site of a freight and marshalling yard. Milaneo is inside the Milaneo shopping centre, and golocal reviewers call its wood-and-jungle decor a “stylisher Burger-Tempel”, a stylish burger temple. Both are in the same neighbourhood, but I have not checked the exact walking distance between them or how their dining rooms compare. My pick is still Europaviertel. A train schedule leaves no room for a mall that may be shut.

Marienstraße: the flagship in a historic building

Marienstraße is the biggest of the four. It opened on 1 September 2014 with 300 seats inside and 60 on the terrace. According to stuttgart-informationen.de, it moved into the former Ketterer hotel and brewery building, whose history goes back to 1929, after several months of renovation. It sits right next to the Das Gerber shopping centre. With that many seats, it is the branch I would call first for a table of ten. One catch: on Sundays it closes at 10 pm, an hour before Europaviertel and Caleido.

Caleido: Tübinger Straße in Stuttgart-Süd

Caleido, at Tübinger Straße 41-43, was the chain’s second Stuttgart restaurant. It opened shortly before 11 April 2014, according to the local magazine re.flect. The official page lists it as open every day from 11:30 am to 11 pm. Along with Europaviertel, that makes it the late option on a Sunday.

Hans im Glück Stuttgart menu and prices (2026)

On the Stuttgart menu, burgers start at €11.50 for the Klassik and go up to €17.90 for the Hochstapler. The Mittagsmenü (lunch menu) costs €9.50 with a burger, fries, a side and a drink. All prices below come from the Milaneo menu published on speisekarte.de and updated on 17 February 2026. The chain’s official menu shows no prices, and the other three branches may charge slightly different amounts, so treat these figures as a guide.

All four Stuttgart branches serve the same national menu: burgers, salads and small plates in meat, vegetarian and vegan versions, plus a cocktail bar. I found no burger that is exclusive to Stuttgart.

Hans im Glück Stuttgart menu prices in 2026: from €8.50 for the Small Single Smash and €9.50 for the Mittagsmenü (lunch menu) to €17.90 for the Hochstapler; most burgers cost €13.50 (Milaneo menu on speisekarte.de, 17 February 2026) (Chart: Burger Breton, CC BY 4.0, data from speisekarte.de (https://www.speisekarte.de/stuttgart/restaurant/hans\_im\_glueck3/speisekarte))

Burgers on the Speisekarte

Burger Price
Klassik €11.50
Hans im Glück €12.50

Smash burgers

The smash burgers start at €8.50, the cheapest way into the menu:

Smash burger Price
Small Single Smash €8.50
Double Smash €13.90
Triple Smash €16.90

Lunch menu (Mittagsmenü)

The Mittagsmenü costs €9.50. It includes a burger, Goldfritten (the house fries), a side salad or coleslaw, and a drink: Durstlöscher lemonade, still water, iced tea or a small beer. That is €2 less than a Klassik on its own. If your timing allows a lunch stop, this is the deal I would point a first-timer to; at dinner, the same burger with fries and a lemonade comes to €22.50 or more.

Sides, salads, drinks and desserts

  • Goldfritten: €5.50 (large €9.90)
  • Sweet potato fries: €7.50 (large €12.90)
  • Krautsalat (coleslaw): €4.90
  • Rohköstlich salad: €12.90

  • 8 nuggets: €7.50
  • Menü Zwergenschmaus: €10.90

Vegan and vegetarian burgers in Stuttgart

Every Hans im Glück in Stuttgart serves its burgers, salads and small plates in meat, vegetarian and vegan versions. For a group that mixes meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans, that solves the argument before it starts. Reviewers at Europaviertel single out the vegetarian burgers, and children get a vegan option too: the Kleiner Glücksgriff at €6.90.

Gluten-free diners should be careful. The official pages publish nothing about gluten-free options, and one review mentions a risk of cross-contamination. Ask the staff before you order.

Hans im Glück Stuttgart reviews

Across the three branches with Google data, Hans im Glück Stuttgart scores about 4.2 to 4.4 out of 5. Reviewers praise the chicken and vegetarian burgers, the fries and the homemade lemonades. Their complaints: rising prices and uneven service.

Hans im Glück Stuttgart reviews by location: Google 4.4/5 at Europaviertel (3,587 reviews), 4.3/5 at Milaneo (2,811) and about 4.2/5 at Caleido (1,563); Tripadvisor 4.0/5 and 3.5/5. I collected these scores on 20 October 2026 through aggregators (Wanderlog, reviewhero, golocal), not directly on Google or Tripadvisor, so they are approximate. The date of the Caleido data is unknown, and I found no verified Yelp profile. These are diners’ ratings, not a Burger Breton verdict.

What reviewers like

  • Chicken and vegetarian burgers (Europaviertel)
  • The sauces left on the table and the homemade lemonades (Europaviertel)
  • Crispy fries (Milaneo, Caleido)
  • Friendly staff (Milaneo, Caleido, Marienstraße)
  • The terrace (Milaneo)

What reviewers criticise

  • Smaller portions and higher prices (Europaviertel, Milaneo)
  • Uneven meat quality, and a Klassik that some find bland or dry (Europaviertel, Milaneo)
  • Inattentive or slow service, especially for drinks (Europaviertel, Caleido)

My reading of the reviews: the sides and the vegetarian range win diners over, and value for money is the weak point. The Milaneo gap is telling, 4.3 on Google but 3.5 on Tripadvisor, where visitors to the city leave their reviews. If price is your concern, go at lunchtime for the €9.50 Mittagsmenü or order a Small Single Smash. Several reviewers find the €11.50 Klassik bland, so I would skip it.

Booking, delivery and takeaway

All four Stuttgart branches offer dine-in, takeaway and delivery. To reserve a table, phone the restaurant. Online booking is listed as unavailable at Europaviertel and temporarily unavailable at Milaneo, and both ask you to call. The Caleido and Marienstraße pages do not mention reservations, so call those too. Milaneo delivers through the chain’s Glücksbringer service; I could not confirm which delivery apps the other branches use.

Getting there and parking

All four Hans im Glück branches in Stuttgart are central and easy to reach by Stadtbahn (light rail) or bus. Only Milaneo has a car park in the same building.

Milaneo and Europaviertel

  • Stadtbahn Stadtbibliothek (U5, U6, U7, U15): about 3 minutes on foot
  • Stadtbahn Budapester Platz (U12): about 4 minutes on foot
  • Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof: about 10 minutes on foot
  • Milaneo underground car park: 1,700 spaces, open Monday to Saturday 7:30 am–9:30 pm, closed on Sundays and public holidays, maximum height 1.90 m

Marienstraße and Caleido

  • Bus stop Marienstraße (lines 44 and 92)
  • Stadtbahn Rotebühlplatz (U2, U4, U11, U14, U34): about 5 minutes on foot
  • Stadtbahn Österreichischer Platz (U1, U9, U34)
  • Das Gerber, next door, has entrances on Tübinger Straße, Sophienstraße and Marienstraße

The official pages publish nothing about payment methods, wheelchair access or Wi-Fi. Check with the restaurant if they matter to you.

How Hans im Glück came to Stuttgart in 2014

Hans im Glück had four restaurants in Stuttgart by the end of 2014. Three of them opened that year, after Europaviertel, the first.

  • Europaviertel: the first Stuttgart branch
  • Caleido, Tübinger Straße: opened shortly before 11 April 2014 (re.flect)
  • Marienstraße: opened on 1 September 2014 in the former Ketterer building
  • Milaneo: announced in August 2014 by re.flect under the headline “Hans im vierfachen Glück”; the Milaneo mall opened on 9 October 2014

When Marienstraße opened, the chain had 8 franchisees and more than 20 Burgergrills in Germany, according to stuttgart-informationen.de.

Who is behind Hans im Glück?

Hans im Glück is a German burger chain founded in Munich’s Hackenviertel in 2010 by Thomas Hirschberger. According to Gastroinsider, he founded it with his wife, Gunilla. The name comes from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “Hans in Luck”.

In January 2020, Hirschberger sold his majority stake in Hans im Glück Franchise GmbH to GAB, already a minority shareholder, and to the BackWerk founders Dirk Schneider and Hans-Christian Limmer. At that time the chain had 81 restaurants, and it had made €147 million in revenue in 2019, according to Tageskarte. Gastroinsider put the count at around 100 restaurants in April 2026, but the chain has not confirmed that figure.

Some franchisees have since gone bankrupt. Saarlouis, Trier and Kaiserslautern went under in July 2024. Mainz, Wiesbaden and Fulda followed in May 2025, and head office took those restaurants over. None of the sources I read mention Stuttgart, and I could not establish whether the Stuttgart branches are run by a franchisee or by the chain itself. For another city, read our Hans im Glück Leipzig guide. For where the burger itself comes from, read our history of the hamburger.

The Hans im Glück fountain has nothing to do with the burgers

Stuttgart’s Hans-im-Glück-Brunnen, the fountain on Geißplatz in the old town, has no link to the burger chain. It was unveiled in May 1909, on 12 May according to museum-digital. Mayor Heinrich von Gauß wanted it as a “sign of good fortune”. The streets around it are still called the Hans-im-Glück-Viertel.

There is a burger twist all the same. According to the Stuttgarter Zeitung, a Burger King opened on Nadlerstraße, close to the fountain, and closed after barely a year. Not much luck there.

How I researched this guide

Every address, phone number, opening time and service in this guide comes from the four official Hans im Glück pages, checked on 20 October 2026. Prices come from the Milaneo menu on speisekarte.de, dated 17 February 2026. Review scores come from Wanderlog, reviewhero and golocal, collected on 20 October 2026. The local history comes from re.flect, stuttgart-informationen.de and Stuttgart-Tourist; the chain’s history from Tageskarte and Gastroinsider.

Where sources disagreed, I used the official one. Some directories list another phone number for Marienstraße, but I publish only the number on the chain’s own page. I did not rate these restaurants, so this guide has no Burger Breton score.
