Burger King Tunis? There is none: Tunisia's only verified branch is in Sousse. Eat at Fatburger, Tunisia Mall Lac 2 instead: address, prices, reviews.

As of 15 October 2026, Tunis has no Burger King. The only branch in Tunisia I could verify is at the Mall of Sousse in Akouda, about 140 km south of the capital. If you want a chain burger in Tunis itself, the place to go is Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express at Tunisia Mall in Lac 2. Its address, phone number, budget and review record follow.
Is there a Burger King in Tunis?
No. No source I could find confirms a Burger King anywhere in Tunis as of 15 October 2026. I looked for branches in Lac, La Marsa, Ennasr, El Manar and at Tunisia Mall and found none.
The rumour has a history. In December 2018, the Tunisian news site Webdo announced that Burger King would arrive in the « banlieue nord de Tunis », the northern suburbs, in early 2019 (Webdo, 10/12/2018). That opening never happened. Sousse got the first Burger King instead.
You may also come across an aggregator page listing eight Burger King restaurants in Tunisia, Tunis and La Marsa among them. No other source backs it up, so I have left that list out.
Burger King Tunisia locations: one restaurant, in Sousse
Burger King has one confirmed restaurant in Tunisia, at the Mall of Sousse in Akouda. Wikipedia’s list of Burger King countries gives Tunisia a single restaurant, opened in 2019 at the Mall of Sousse, and marks it halal (Wikipedia).
How Burger King came to Tunisia
Burger King reached Tunisia in late 2019, more than two years after the first announcement. Here is the timeline from the Tunisian press:
- April 2017: Webdo reported that the Jenayah group planned to open Burger King restaurants in Tunisia by the end of 2017 (Webdo, 27/04/2017).
- December 2018: Webdo announced an opening in Tunis’s northern suburbs for the first quarter of 2019. It never happened.
- 5 September 2019: the Tunisian Ministry of Commerce authorized Burger King to open five restaurants in the country (L’Économiste Maghrébin, 20/12/2019).
- 22 November 2019: the Mall of Sousse opened with Tunisia’s first Burger King inside.
- 17 December 2019: the decree formalizing the authorization was signed (same source).

The Burger King at the Mall of Sousse is in Akouda, Sousse (plus code WG2V+X9P). Restaurant Guru gives its phone number as +216 70 296 646.

The reviews are harsh. The same complaints keep coming back: dry, rubbery patties, too much salt, burgers served cold. I also can’t tell you for certain that the branch is still trading in October 2026. The hours posted online (10:47 to 23:48) look auto-generated, so I have not published them. My advice: don’t make the 140 km trip from Tunis just for a Whopper. If you are already in Sousse, check the official Burger King Tunisie Facebook page first.

Fatburger Tunis: the burger chain to try at Tunisia Mall
Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express at Tunisia Mall in Lac 2 is the main American burger chain I could verify in Tunis. It is the closest thing to a Burger King meal in the capital: a chain burger, fries and a soda in a shopping mall.
Fatburger first came to Tunisia in 2013. Its first Tunisian unit, in Sidi Bou Saïd, was announced on 10 September 2013 with the franchisee Solitaire Food Service Inc. (Fast Casual, 10/09/2013). The Sidi Bou Saïd address no longer appears in the official locator, so don’t count on it being open.

Fatburger Tunisia Mall appears to open every day from 9:00 to midnight. Treat that as provisional: the hours come from a search snippet of the official locator, and the page itself would not load when I checked. If you plan to arrive late, call +216 58 482 038 first.
Fatburger Tunis menu and prices
Budget TND 10–20 per person at Fatburger Tunisia Mall, according to Restaurant Guru. I found no dated menu with item-by-item prices in dinars, so I am not quoting any. Low prices and soda refills are what reviewers praise most.

Three questions remain open: whether the meat is halal, whether there is a vegetarian option, and how easy the restaurant is to reach in a wheelchair. If any of them matters to you, ask the staff before you order.
Does Fatburger Tunis deliver?
Yes. Restaurant Guru lists delivery and takeaway for Fatburger Tunisia Mall, and cards are accepted. It doesn’t say which delivery app carries the restaurant, so search your usual app for « Fatburger Tunisia Mall ».
Fatburger Tunis reviews: what diners say
Fatburger Tunis reviews are mixed: about 2.5/5 on Google and a much kinder 4.3/5 on Tripadvisor, though that comes from only seven reviews. These are the figures on 15 October 2026:

- Criticized: cold fries, stale buns, undercooked meat, quality that changes from one visit to the next.

My verdict: Fatburger is a sensible stop for a cheap chain burger while you shop in Lac 2, and nothing more. Don’t cross the city for it. The complaints are about consistency rather than the recipe, so go at off-peak hours and send back anything that arrives cold.

Lac 2 and the Berges du Lac are the capital’s fast-food hub, and Fatburger is the burger option there. For fried chicken, KFC opened at the Berges du Lac in January 2018, then in La Marsa in March and El Manar in April of the same year (Webdo).
