Grill’d has five restaurants in Canberra: Canberra Centre in Civic, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Manuka and Woden. For most visitors the one to head for is Grill’d Canberra Centre, at Shop EG12/125 Bunda St in Civic. All five listed 10:30am to 10pm on the official site when I checked. Burgers start at about A$14.50 for a Simply Grill’d, and Belconnen is the most-reviewed branch, at 4.0/5 on Google across 1,003 reviews.

This is a checked guide, not a tasting review. I went through Grill’d’s page for each ACT restaurant, the official menu, Canberra press archives and review aggregators, and I dated every fact. When something could not be verified, I say so rather than guess.

Grill’d Canberra locations: all 5 restaurants compared

Grill’d runs five restaurants in the ACT: two in Westfield centres (Belconnen and Woden), one in the Canberra Centre in Civic, one in Gungahlin Village and one on Franklin St in Manuka. North of the lake you have Belconnen, Gungahlin and Civic. South of it, Manuka and Woden. Tuggeranong, the southernmost town centre, has none, so Woden is the nearest for anyone living down there.

Grill’d Canberra Centre (Civic)

Grill’d Canberra Centre is the closest Grill’d to the city centre, at Shop EG12/125 Bunda St in Civic. Its official name is “Grill’d Burgers Canberra Centre”. It opened in November 2013 with free dine-in burgers from 11am to 3pm on Wednesday 13 November, as RiotACT reported at the time. Staying in Civic or working in the city? This is the one I’d pick.

Grill’d Belconnen

Grill’d Belconnen sits on level 3 of Westfield Belconnen, at 301 Benjamin Way, right next to Target. With 1,003 Google reviews it is the most-reviewed Grill’d in Canberra, which also makes it the branch where you can best judge what regulars think. It was already trading when the Canberra Centre branch opened in 2013.

Grill’d Manuka

Grill’d Manuka is at 1/40-42 Franklin St, Griffith, opposite the Greater Union cinemas. It is the only Canberra Grill’d whose official page lists group bookings. That alone makes it my pick for a birthday dinner or a team lunch.

Grill’d Woden

Grill’d Woden is inside Westfield Woden, at Shop 82 Bradley St, Phillip, next to the cinemas. Handy before or after a film. It was already open in 2013, and it is the closest Grill’d for the Tuggeranong side of town.

Grill’d Gungahlin

Grill’d Gungahlin is at 46-50 Hibberson St, inside Gungahlin Village, and serves Canberra’s north. Gungahlin is also the end of the light rail line that runs down Northbourne Avenue to Civic. The branch is missing from the 2013 coverage, and I could not find its opening date.

Grill’d Canberra opening hours

All five Grill’d restaurants in Canberra showed 10:30am to 10pm on grilld.com.au when I checked on 8 October 2026. The official pages only display the current day’s hours, and that day was a Friday in Canberra, so Friday is the only day I can confirm.

Restaurant Friday hours (official site, checked Oct 2026) Other days
Canberra Centre 10:30am–10pm Check the official page or Google Maps
Belconnen 10:30am–10pm Check the official page or Google Maps
Manuka 10:30am–10pm Check the official page or Google Maps
Woden 10:30am–10pm Check the official page or Google Maps
Gungahlin 10:30am–10pm Check the official page or Google Maps

Third-party sites disagree on the other days, and one contradicts the official 10:30am opening outright. Shopping-centre branches may also follow centre trading hours. Check the restaurant’s own page on the day you go.

Services: pick up, delivery and catering

All five Canberra restaurants list three services on their official pages: Pick Up, Delivery and Catering. Catering orders must go in before 5pm for pick-up the next day. Manuka also takes group bookings.

Dine-in is not listed. Everything points to it existing, starting with the dine-in-only launch offer in 2013, but I have not confirmed it branch by branch. No official source covers payment methods, wheelchair access or parking, so I won’t guess. What I can say: Belconnen and Woden are inside Westfield centres, and the Canberra Centre sits in the middle of Civic.

Grill’d menu and prices in Australia

A burger at Grill’d costs roughly A$14.50 to A$17.90, based on national prices from the aggregator menuprices.com.au, updated 9 August 2026. These are not Canberra-specific prices. They can vary by restaurant, and delivery apps usually charge more.

Item Indicative price (AUD, Australia, Aug 2026)
Simply Grill’d $14.50
Garden Goodness $14.90
Beyond Simply Grill’d $15.90
Crispy Bacon & Cheese $16.90
Mighty Melbourne $17.90
Famous Grill’d Chips (regular) $7.50
Sweet potato chips (regular) $8.90
Shakes $9.00

Do the sum before you go: the cheapest burger, regular chips and a shake come to about A$31. That is casual-restaurant money, not drive-through money, and it’s the honest way to compare Grill’d with the burger bars in Braddon.

Past the classics, the official menu has specialty burgers made with Australian lamb and wagyu. A “High Performance” range of double-patty burgers includes the “Protein Pro”, which Grill’d says delivers 81 g of protein per serve. There are also wraps until 5pm, sliders, salads and a kids’ menu. The chicken tenders come in 3 or 5 pieces, cooked in extra virgin olive oil.

I found no Canberra-only item. All five ACT restaurants serve the national menu.

Vegetarian burgers and gluten-free buns in Canberra

Vegetarians get more than a token option at Grill’d. The plant-based range is built on Beyond Meat, with the Beyond Simply Grill’d at about A$15.90. The Garden Goodness is a veggie burger at about A$14.90, and gluten-free buns are available. Vegan or coeliac? Ask staff which items fit, since the official menu doesn’t settle cross-contact.

Grill’d Canberra reviews: what diners say

Grill’d Belconnen rates 4.0/5 on Google from 1,003 reviews and 4.1/5 on TripAdvisor from 69 reviews, according to Wanderlog (checked 8 October 2026). Diners praise the healthier options and the friendly staff. The recurring complaints are uneven quality, such as burnt bits and over-salted chips, and the wait. For a chain that sells itself on quality, inconsistency is the criticism I’d take most seriously.

I could not get reliable ratings for Canberra Centre, Manuka, Woden or Gungahlin. One aggregator shows 774 reviews for Canberra Centre, but that figure adds Google and TripAdvisor together and carries no rating. Rather than print a number I can’t stand behind, I’d point you to each branch’s Google Maps listing.

The Wednesday “Burger Love” deal

Some reviewers mention a Wednesday “Burger Love” deal that adds an extra patty. I could not find the current terms on Grill’d’s official pages. Ask in store, or check the Grill’d app, before you plan a Wednesday visit around it.

What is Grill’d? The Australian healthy burger chain

Grill’d is an Australian burger chain founded by Simon Crowe in Hawthorn, Melbourne, on 2 March 2004, and its head office is still in Melbourne. It built its name on “healthy burgers” and now runs more than 170 restaurants, according to Wikipedia and Dynamic Business.

Sourcing is what sets it apart from classic fast food. Its beef and lamb have been grass-fed and free-range since 2010, and its chicken has been RSPCA-certified since 2016. The official site confirms “100% RSPCA Certified chicken” for the tenders. In August 2025, Grill’d also started selling its patties at Coles supermarkets, according to Wikipedia.

Grill’d has one restaurant outside Australia, in Seminyak, Bali, which opened in December 2019. If Bali is next on your trip, read my guide to 2080 Burger, the Sanur burger spot in Denpasar.

The brand is also in court. On 16 June 2026, the ACCC took Grill’d to the Federal Court over its “Tree Day Tuesday” campaign, run with Greenfleet from January 2021 to April 2024. The ACCC alleges that hidden conditions, such as being a Relish member, dining in and ordering at the counter, sharply reduced the donations. The case is ongoing and the allegations are unproven, according to The New Daily and Mediaweek. Still, for a chain whose pitch rests on doing the right thing, it is worth following.

Which Grill’d in Canberra should you choose?

Choose by where you are: Canberra Centre for Civic, Belconnen or Woden if you’re already at Westfield, Gungahlin for the far north, and Manuka for groups. The menu is identical at all five, so location and booking needs decide it.

  • Staying or working in Civic: Grill’d Canberra Centre, Bunda St.
  • Group dinner: Grill’d Manuka, the only one listing group bookings.
  • Before a movie: Grill’d Woden (next to the cinemas) or Grill’d Manuka (opposite the cinema).
  • Northside: Grill’d Gungahlin or Grill’d Belconnen.
  • Tuggeranong and the far south: Grill’d Woden, the closest branch.

How I built this guide

Every address, phone number, service and set of hours comes from the official grilld.com.au page for each restaurant, checked on 8 October 2026. Prices are national figures from an aggregator, dated August 2026. Ratings come from Wanderlog. History comes from Wikipedia, Dynamic Business and RiotACT. I did not eat at or rate the restaurants for this piece, and I left out anything I could not verify.
