The best burgers in Stockholm are at Funky Chicken Food Truck in Nacka Strand and Franky’s Burger in Vasastan and Södermalm. Funky Chicken is 4th in the World’s 25 Best Burgers 2026; Franky’s is No. 1 in Sweden’s 2026 Burgerdudes ranking. Barrels Burgers & Beer, Rockin Grill and Moe’s Burger complete my top five. Most craft burgers in the city cost 105 to 160 SEK.

Where to eat the best burgers in Stockholm: the short answer

If you only have time for one burger in Stockholm, take the boat to Funky Chicken in Nacka Strand. Staying central? Walk to Franky’s on Tegnérgatan instead. Those two lead every serious 2026 ranking I checked, and a burger at either costs around 125 to 130 SEK.

Two things stand out in this list. Stockholm’s top burgers are mostly smash burgers, and two of my ten picks serve from a truck window rather than a dining room, including the burger Sweden crowned five years running. This guide belongs to our Stockholm restaurant hub, next to our profile of Mäster Anders, the historic Kungsholmen grill brasserie.

How I ranked these Stockholm burger restaurants

I ranked these restaurants by cross-checking four published sources, not by averaging review-site stars. For each venue I looked up its 2026 rank in Burgerdudes’ Sveriges bästa burgare (Sweden’s best burgers), its rank in the global list at theworldsbestburgers.com, its listing in Thatsup’s Stockholm burger guide (updated August 10, 2026) and its listing in Bokabord’s guide (updated May 25, 2026).

This is a ranking built on documented evidence, not a tasting diary, and where the sources disagree I make the call and explain it in the entry. Every venue was confirmed open in 2026 by its official site or a 2026 guide. I left out Google star ratings because I couldn’t check them at the source. Prices are approximate and mostly from Thatsup. Stockholm menus move, so check before you go.

What is Burgerdudes, and why does Sweden trust it?

Burgerdudes is the Swedish burger-review team behind the yearly Sveriges bästa burgare list and the global ranking at theworldsbestburgers.com. The Swedish press treats it as the reference. Köket published the 2026 list on April 30, 2026 (Köket, Nina Kindbro), and Dagens PS and Bokabord republish it every year. I use Burgerdudes as my backbone and depart from it once, on purpose: Funky Chicken, which the 2026 Swedish list moved to its Hall of Fame, goes back to No. 1 here.

The 10 best burger restaurants in Stockholm, ranked

1. Funky Chicken Food Truck, Nacka Strand: Sweden’s Hall of Fame smash burger

Funky Chicken Food Truck serves the most decorated burger in Sweden, and despite the name, you come here for beef. Burgerdudes named it Sweden’s best burger five years running, from 2021 to 2025, then moved it to a Hall of Fame category outside the 2026 ranking. Internationally it is 4th in the World’s 25 Best Burgers 2026 (theworldsbestburgers.com).

Why put a retired champion at No. 1? A Hall of Fame is a retirement, not a demotion, and the global list still places this truck above every other Swedish burger. Franky’s, the new national No. 1, sits 20th.

The truck opened in 2014, inspired by New York street food (Visit Stockholm). Everything is 100% beef, smashed. Start with the Grandmaster Smash; the Triple Cheese and the Bad Gringo are the alternatives. Around 125 SEK.

Plan the trip around the boat. The crossing from Nybroplan is half the outing, and the truck keeps no fixed opening days, so check Instagram the morning you go.

2. Franky’s Burger, Vasastan and Södermalm: Sweden’s No. 1 burger in 2026

Franky’s Burger is No. 1 in Burgerdudes’ Sveriges bästa burgare 2026 and 20th in the World’s 25 Best Burgers 2026. In my view, it is the best burger you can walk to in central Stockholm.

It started in 2013 as a street grill on Sveavägen, after the founder came back from a trip to the United States, and moved indoors to Tegnérgatan in 2017 (Bokabord). Swedish ground beef, buns baked daily by local bakeries, sauces made in house.

On a first visit, order the Franky’s Favorite, a straight cheeseburger. The Umami Special with gochujang sauce is the detour. Burgerdudes praises the dry-aged Swedish beef and the Cajun fries (Dagens PS). Budget about 130 SEK.

3. Barrels Burgers & Beer, Gamla stan and City: aged beef in the Old Town

Barrels Burgers & Beer, 3rd in Sweden’s 2026 Burgerdudes ranking, is where I’d send anyone who wants a burger in Gamla stan. It opened in 2015 and also organizes the Stockholm Burger Fest.

It is also the odd one out on this list. While most of the top ten smash thin patties, the Barrels Deluxe is a thick 200 g dry-aged beef patty on a sesame bun with caramelized onions, cheese, pickles and house sauce. Each restaurant makes only 10 a day, so go early (barrels.se). Burgers run about 130 SEK.

  • City: Smålandsgatan 22

The 2026 Stockholm Burger Fest ran May 14–16 outside Barrels City, with free entry. Hundred Burgers from Valencia and Madrid, No. 1 in the World’s 25 Best Burgers 2026, came as a guest (Burgerdudes). Heading to Spain next? See our guide to the best burgers in Valencia.

4. Rockin Grill, Norra Djurgårdsstaden: smash burgers in an American diner

Rockin Grill, 5th in Sweden’s 2026 Burgerdudes ranking, serves smash burgers in an American diner setting for around 110 SEK. The burger Burgerdudes singles out is the Elvis burger, with peanut butter. It sounds like a stunt. Coming from a ranking this consistent, I’d order it. Bokabord reports that Rockin Grill opened in 2018 and buys its meat from Fällmans Kött.

  • Address: Lövängsgatan 14, 115 44 Stockholm (Norra Djurgårdsstaden), with a second branch in Hammarby Sjöstad
  • Hours: Mon–Fri 11 am–9 pm, weekends noon–9 pm
  • Phone: +46 8 410 222 11

5. Moe’s Burger, Kista: the food truck under the metro

Moe’s Burger, 11th in Sweden’s 2026 Burgerdudes ranking, is a food truck parked under the metro tracks in Kista. It opened in late 2020 and keeps short hours.

Order the Big Moe or the Crusty Moe, and the Nutella burger if you still have room. Burgers cost 105 to 125 SEK, among the cheapest on this list.

  • Address: Köpenhamnsgatan 4, 164 42 Kista, about 350 m from Kista metro station
  • Hours: limited, and I couldn’t verify them at the source, so check Instagram @moes.burger first

6. Stigbergets Fot, Södermalm: Barrels burgers with 24 taps

Stigbergets Fot, 13th in Sweden’s 2026 Burgerdudes ranking, is the pick when the beer matters as much as the burger. The Gothenburg brewery Stigbergets Bryggeri runs it with Barrels: 24 taps, the Barrels burger menu, open since February 2020 (Visit Stockholm).

  • Address: Götgatan 5, Södermalm
  • Burger: the Barrels menu, around 130 SEK

7. BAP (Burgers & Pastrami), Östermalm: a New York deli with burgers

BAP, 15th in Sweden’s 2026 Burgerdudes ranking, is a New York-style deli whose burgers made the national top 15. Since 2017 the kitchen has brined, cured and smoked its own pastrami on site, with meat from Kötthallen Sorunda.

Order the Dijon Dream or the Truffle Trouble. At 130 to 155 SEK, these are the priciest burgers on this list.

8. Bun Meat Bun, Farsta, City and Arlanda: the best value smash burger

Bun Meat Bun, 16th in Sweden’s 2026 Burgerdudes ranking, is the best-value smash burger in Stockholm: The Famous Bunburger costs 83 to 116 SEK, the lowest price on this list. Smashed patties, potato rolls, and milkshakes made with Lejonet & Björnen ice cream.

Two enthusiasts created the brand in 2012 and opened the first restaurant in Farsta Strand in May 2014. Every branch has a gluten-free option. None takes cash (bunmeatbun.se).

  • Farsta Strand: Brattforsgatan 19
  • City: Kungsgatan 25 (K25), and Klarabergsgatan 29 in City Food Hall (halal meat)
  • Bromma: Bällstavägen 36, Mariehäll
  • Arlanda Airport: Terminal 5, handy before a flight

9. Flippin’ Burgers, Vasastan and Norrmalm: no secrets

Flippin’ Burgers earns its place through the Thatsup guide, which prices its burgers at around 120 SEK. Its motto sums up the approach better than I could: Bra kött. Bra bröd. Inga hemligheter. Good meat, good bread, no secrets.

  • Vasastan: Observatoriegatan 8, 113 28 Stockholm
  • Norrmalm: Norrlandsgatan 16, 111 43 Stockholm

10. Lily’s Burger, Kungsholmen: KRAV beef and vegan options

Lily’s Burger is my pick for vegetarians and vegans in Stockholm. The beef is KRAV-certified (KRAV is Sweden’s organic label), and the menu has vegetarian and vegan burgers. Actors Joel Kinnaman and Mahmut Suvakci founded it, and the room has a 1960s diner look.

  • Kungsholmen: Hornsbergs strand 47
  • Södermalm: a second branch at Nytorget
  • Note: Lily’s is listed in Thatsup’s August 2026 guide, but I couldn’t verify its hours or prices at the source. Check before you go.

Smash burgers in Stockholm: where to go

For a smash burger in Stockholm, go to Funky Chicken, Franky’s, Rockin Grill, Bun Meat Bun or Moe’s: five of my top ten serve smashed patties. Why does a thin, hard-seared patty stay juicy? Our burger patty internal temperature guide explains it. For a comparison with another city, read our review of Junk smash burgers in Paris.

Prefer a thick, dry-aged patty? Order the Barrels Deluxe. In Stockholm, the choice between the two styles mostly comes down to Barrels versus everyone else.

How much does a burger cost in Stockholm?

A craft burger in Stockholm costs between 105 and 160 SEK, according to Thatsup. Steak restaurants that put a burger on the menu charge more, around 250 to 275 SEK. Stockholm is an expensive city, yet a nationally ranked burger remains one of its better-value meals.

  • Under 120 SEK: Bun Meat Bun (83–116), Moe’s (105–125), Rockin Grill (~110)
  • 120–135 SEK: Flippin’ (~120), Funky Chicken (~125), Franky’s (~130), Barrels and Stigbergets Fot (~130)
  • Up to 155 SEK: BAP (130–155)
