Pasibus Wrocław: From Food Truck to Burger Chain

Who founded Pasibus, how one old Fiat Ducato became a chain of more than 30 restaurants across Poland, and what to order when you visit Wrocław.

By , Restaurants editorPublished

Pasibus is the burger chain that started in a Wrocław food truck. Dawid Bojarojć, Piotr Staszczyński and Jan Kulisiewicz are named as its founders. Their first truck, an old Fiat Ducato called ‘Dziadzio’, served its first burgers on 21 August 2013. By April 2025 Pasibus had 36 restaurants in 16 Polish cities, and the last full branch list, from November 2022, put 10 of them in Wrocław. No other city had as many.

It is a chain built by its founders, not a chef’s restaurant. That is what makes it worth a profile: twelve years from one second-hand van to dozens of branches.

Who founded Pasibus?

Pasibus was founded in Wrocław in 2013 by Dawid Bojarojć, Piotr Staszczyński and Jan Kulisiewicz, according to the Polish Wikipedia entry on Pasibus and Horecatrends.

Dawid Bojarojć came first. Polish Wikipedia credits him with the first Pasibus burger recipes, developed with help from Piotr Arasymowicz.

The other two arrived as customers. In a 2018 interview with Horecatrends, Piotr Staszczyński said Dawid launched the truck in mid-2013 and prepared the burgers every night in a rented kitchen. Staszczyński and his brother-in-law kept coming back to eat, and about a year later they joined as partners.

What each founder does today, I could not confirm. A 2025 interview in Wiadomości Handlowe names Alicja Staszczyńska as a member of the Pasibus management board.

The Wrocław burger food truck that started it all

Pasibus began with ‘Dziadzio’ (‘Grandpa’), an old Fiat Ducato that started serving burgers on 21 August 2013 and was one of Wrocław’s first burger food trucks.

That date comes from Polish Wikipedia. Horecatrends and the city portal wroclaw.pl also describe the truck. The name stuck: in the November 2022 list of Wrocław branches, the restaurant at Powstańców Śląskich 5 was still called ‘Dziadzio’.

More trucks followed, according to Polish Wikipedia:

  • Pasibus Junior, from 21 September 2014
  • Pasiczepa, from 17 May 2015
  • Pasibydlak, an 8-metre vehicle for big events, from 1 May 2016

Pasibus timeline: from food truck to Polish burger chain

Pasibus went from one truck in 2013 to its first restaurant in 2015, took investment from the Agora group in 2020 and had 36 restaurants by April 2025.

Pasibus growth from food truck to Polish burger chain: 1 restaurant in February 2015, 6 in January 2020 when Agora invested, 28 in 14 cities in October 2022, 36 in 16 cities in April 2025, and the Bielany drive-thru announced as the 39th location in August 2025 (Wikipedia PL, Wirtualnemedia, wroclaw.pl, Horecatrends) (Chart: Burger Breton, CC BY 4.0, data from pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasibus, wirtualnemedia.pl, wroclaw.pl and horecatrends.pl)

The first Pasibus restaurant on Skłodowskiej-Curie

The first fixed Pasibus, ‘Przystanek Pasibus’ (‘Pasibus Stop’), opened in early 2015 on ul. Skłodowskiej-Curie in Wrocław, opposite the Arkady Wrocławskie shopping centre.

The sources disagree on the exact date. Wrocław.pl announced on 15 January 2015 that it would open in mid-January. Polish Wikipedia gives 10 February 2015. In his 2018 interview, Staszczyński remembered it as ‘early 2014’. I go with 2015, since two separate sources agree on the year.

The Agora investment and the 2024 exit

In 2020 the media group Agora backed the growth of Pasibus, then left the deal in October 2024.

In late January 2020, Agora group companies Helios and Step Inside signed an investment agreement with some shareholders of Food for Nation, the company behind Pasibus. Helios put about PLN 5 million into Step Inside, and six Pasibus restaurants were open at the time, Wirtualnemedia reported.

Four years later Agora sold out. On 7 October 2024, Helios sold its 83.1% stake in Step Inside, a Pasibus franchisee, to a company called Step Outside for PLN 17.4 million, paid in instalments from August 2025 to August 2030, according to Wirtualnemedia and Agora’s own filing. The brand itself belongs to Pasibus sp. z o.o.

The first Pasibus drive-thru, near Wrocław

Pasibus announced its first drive-thru in August 2025: about 300 m² of dine-in and drive-thru space on ul. Czekoladowa at Aleja Bielany, in Bielany Wrocławskie, just south-west of the city.

Wrocław.pl and Wiadomości Handlowe presented it as the chain’s 39th location, due to open around late September or early October 2025. Mateusz Kilanowski spoke for the brand. I found no primary source confirming the opening date, so check pasibus.pl before you drive out.

Pasibus Wrocław addresses

Wrocław has more Pasibus restaurants than any other city: 10 of the chain’s 28 were in Wrocław when wroclaw.pl published its list on 3 November 2022.

That list is the most recent complete one I could source. Treat it as a starting point. Branches move and close, so confirm each one on pasibus.pl or a map app before you go.

Stacja Ruska at ul. Włodkowica 37 is closed. It shut on 31 October 2022 after nearly six years because the lease was not renewed, wroclaw.pl reported. Some city guides still list it.

What to order at Pasibus

At Pasibus, order a beef burger. Beef is the core of the menu, alongside fried-cheese, breaded-chicken and vegetarian or vegan options, a monthly special and, since June 2020, breakfast.

These named burgers appear in the sources I could check. Names and recipes change, so compare them with the current menu.

  • Bebek: the chain’s best-known name. Pasibus sold it for PLN 1 at the Warsaw Promenada opening in April 2025, per Horecatrends.
  • Boczuś Włap: the breakfast burger, with egg, bacon, cheddar and mushrooms.
  • The Italian-style burger: aged cheese and a tomato-basil sauce. Wrocław.pl called it ‘Włoski Pasterz’ in 2023, while other listings spell it ‘Włoski Pastuch’.
  • Gonzales: beef, pink sauce, rocket, red curry paste, cheddar, jalapeños and nachos, according to In Your Pocket.
  • Burger of the Month: a rotating special that has run since 1 January 2015.

Pasibus burgers compared. Bebek: the burger sold for PLN 1 at the Warsaw opening on 25 April 2025. Boczuś Włap: breakfast burger with egg, bacon, cheddar and mushrooms. Italian-style burger: aged cheese and tomato-basil sauce. Gonzales: beef, pink sauce, rocket, red curry paste, cheddar, jalapeños and nachos. No regular prices, since none could be confirmed (Table: Burger Breton, data from In Your Pocket, Horecatrends and wroclaw.pl)

The names are half the fun. ‘Pasibus’ itself plays on ‘pasibrzuch’, Polish for a glutton, and ‘bus’, the truck it started in. Many burgers carry the same kind of playful Polish nickname.

For a first visit I would order the Bebek. The reason is simple: when Pasibus opened in Warsaw and wanted a crowd, the Bebek is the burger it sold for PLN 1. That tells you which recipe the chain treats as its calling card. If you like heat, go for the Gonzales: red curry paste and nachos on the same bun is not an order you find at most chains.

How much does a burger cost at Pasibus?

I could not confirm current prices at Pasibus, so I do not give any here. The figures on delivery apps and nutrition sites are undated and may include delivery markups. The only price I can source is the PLN 1 Bebek, an opening offer at the Warsaw Promenada branch in April 2025. Check the menu board or pasibus.pl for today’s prices.

Is Pasibus the best burger in Wrocław?

Pasibus is Wrocław’s best-known home-grown burger brand, covered by both the city portal wroclaw.pl and the In Your Pocket guide. Whether it is the best is another question.

I would not crown it without tasting it next to the city’s independent burger bars, and this profile is not that test. Judge it as a chain. Its strengths are the story and the reach: ten branches in Wrocław alone in 2022, so there is usually one nearby. Its weak point, for a guide like ours, is how little it says about its beef, patties and buns. For more places, see our guide to the best burgers in Wrocław.

Pasibus across Poland

Pasibus is no longer just a Wrocław story: by April 2025 it ran 36 restaurants in 16 Polish cities, including Warsaw and Gliwice.

The count moves fast. There were 28 restaurants in 14 cities in October 2022 and 36 in 16 cities in April 2025, and the drive-thru was announced as the 39th location in August 2025. If you are travelling on, see our hubs for burgers in Warsaw and burgers in Poznań.

How I put this profile together

I built this profile from dated, published sources only: Polish Wikipedia, interviews with the founders and the board in Horecatrends and Wiadomości Handlowe, Wrocław’s city portal, Agora’s stock exchange filing and Wirtualnemedia. I checked every source on 19 October 2026. When only one source supports a fact, the text names it.

I have not eaten at Pasibus for this article, and I say so plainly. I left out what I could not verify: beef sourcing, patty weight, bun supplier, cooking technique, current prices and current ownership. Pasibus has no rating here because this is a profile, not a review.
