McDonald's Braga: 6 Restaurants, Hours and Prices
Where each McDonald's in Braga is, which one stays open all night, what a meal costs and what reviewers say, checked on 21 October 2026.
McDonald’s has six restaurants in Braga: Braga Centro on Avenida Central in the historic centre, Braga Parque and Minho Center in shopping malls, and three drive-through sites at Gualtar, Maximinos and Dume. For a late-night meal, go to Gualtar: its McDrive is listed as open 24 hours a day. For a sit-down meal in the old town, go to Braga Centro, which opened on 19 January 1996 and was the city’s first McDonald’s. If you are driving with children, pick Dume, the only one with a play area and its own car park. I checked every address, phone number and opening hour below on 21 October 2026.

Two caveats. The Minho Center address and phone come from a directory, not from McDonald’s, and I found no confirmed opening hours for it. The mcdonalds.pt store pages block automated access, so the hours above come from those pages as shown in search results. Check the official page before a late-night drive.
McDonald’s Braga Centro on Avenida Central
McDonald’s Braga Centro is the McDonald’s closest to Braga Cathedral and the historic centre, on Avenida Central, open daily from 8am to midnight. The Sé is a short walk away, and it features on the restaurant’s collectible pin. The dining room is on two floors, and McDelivery is available.
Braga’s first McDonald’s, open since 1996
Braga Centro opened on 19 January 1996 as the first McDonald’s in Braga and the 18th in Portugal. It turned 30 on 19 January 2026, and both local dailies, Correio do Minho and Diário do Minho, covered the anniversary.
The same local franchisee runs Braga Centro, Braga Parque, Minho Center, Gualtar and Maximinos, with about 180 employees. Seven of them have more than 20 years with the company, ten more than 25 years and two have been there for 30 years. Speaking to Diário do Minho on the anniversary, the franchisee said that for 99% of the people who started with her, it was their first job, and that many now hold management roles. The franchise also backs local causes, among them CERCI Braga, APPACDM, Pais em Rede, Braga’s volunteer firefighters and the Ronald McDonald Children’s Foundation.
Practical details for Braga Centro
The address on the official listing is Avenida Central, 4710-229 Braga, in the parish union of São José de São Lázaro e São João do Souto. The listing adds “Apart. 534”. That is a post-office box, not a street number, so search for “McDonald’s Braga Centro” in your map app instead. Restaurant Guru lists card payment, a terrace, Wi-Fi, delivery, takeaway and wheelchair access.
McDonald’s Braga opening hours: which one is open late or 24 hours?
The McDrive at McDonald’s Gualtar is the one McDonald’s in Braga listed as open 24 hours a day, every day. Its dining room is listed as open from 8am to 2am, and it sits near the University of Minho’s Gualtar campus.
For a late meal on the other side of town, the Maximinos McDrive is listed as open until 4am every night. Dume’s McDrive stays open until 2am from Sunday to Thursday and until 4am on Friday and Saturday. The centre gives up early: Braga Centro closes at midnight and Braga Parque at 11pm. Without a car after midnight, you are out of luck, and that is the real gap in Braga’s McDonald’s map.
McDonald’s Braga Dume: parking, play area and the stadium
McDonald’s Braga Dume is the newest McDonald’s in Braga and the one with a play area and its own car park. It opened on 28 December 2023, about 400 metres from Braga’s municipal stadium, which makes it the closest stop before or after a match. It was the 199th McDonald’s in Portugal, run by franchisee Pedro Fernandes.
According to Correio do Minho’s opening report, the site has:
- a two-lane McDrive
- 148 seats indoors and 48 on the terrace
- a Playplace for children
- 43 parking spaces, including 3 for disabled drivers, 2 for families and 2 with EV charging
- self-order kiosks and solar panels
- about 60 jobs at opening
McDonald’s Portugal menu prices in Braga
A Big Mac meal in Braga costs about €8, in a range from €7.50 to €10, according to crowdsourced data from combien-coute.net dated 5 October 2026. The same site recorded €5.50 in November 2017. Treat it as an estimate, not an official price: McDonald’s prices vary by restaurant and by channel, and delivery apps often charge more than the counter.

McBifana: the McDonald’s burger you only get in Portugal
The McBifana is a limited-edition McDonald’s sandwich sold only in Portugal: pork in a pão de água roll with a beer sauce, based on the bifana, the country’s classic pork sandwich. It is not on the menu all year. It comes back for a few weeks at a time, so check the current menu before you go.

The 2026 Portuguese limited edition
For the brand’s 35th anniversary in Portugal, McDonald’s ran a “Portuguese” limited edition from 5 May to 29 June 2026 in all 220 restaurants in the country, McDrive, takeaway and McDelivery included. According to NiT, the line-up and prices were:

That offer ended on 29 June 2026. Do not expect any of these items on the Braga menu in October 2026 unless McDonald’s brings them back. McDonald’s Braga reviews: what customers say
Reviewers of McDonald’s Braga Centro mostly praise its central location, fast service, friendly staff and value for money. The recurring complaints are the difficulty of finding a table at peak times and on public holidays, uneven service, coffee they find mediocre, and prices a little higher than across the border in Galicia.
I have left out a star rating on purpose. Aggregators disagree on the same restaurant: Restaurant Guru and cardapio.menu show different Google scores and review counts for Braga Centro, and TripAdvisor splits it across several duplicate listings, one with just two reviews. Until the rating is read directly on Google Maps and dated, the review themes above are the part you can trust.
How I built this guide
This guide started as a search for Honorato, the Lisbon burger chain, in Braga. It has no restaurant there: its official site lists six, five in Lisbon (Parque das Nações, Saldanha, Telheiras, Chiado, Belém) and one in Porto, at Rua Cândido dos Reis 12 near Clérigos. The “Honorato Pizza (Braga)” listing on Uber Eats is a different business, a pizzeria with no link to Honorato Hambúrgueres Artesanais. McDonald’s has the most burger restaurants in Braga, so I covered it instead.
I worked from McDonald’s Portugal’s store pages for each Braga restaurant, the opening and anniversary reports in Correio do Minho, Diário do Minho and NiT, and review summaries on Restaurant Guru and cardapio.menu. Every fact was checked on 21 October 2026. Anything I could not confirm, such as the Minho Center hours, is marked as such.
