Best Burger in Luxembourg: 10 Top Spots in Luxembourg City (2026)
Where to eat the best burger in Luxembourg City: 10 ranked spots with signature burgers, euro prices, hours, plus halal, smash and veggie picks.

The best burger in Luxembourg City is at Lux’burgers in Bonnevoie, a few minutes’ walk from the central station. It sits at number one on both Restaurant Guru (4.8, 1,918 reviews) and TripAdvisor (4.8/5, 1,000+ reviews) as of 8 October 2026. Café Bel Air in Belair comes second. For smash burgers, go to Munchies in the Ville-Haute, which opened in March 2025 and uses beef from a farm 35 km (22 miles) away. Expect to pay about €17 to €26 for a sit-down burger, and €11 at the cheapest spot on this list.
The ten ranked picks are all inside Luxembourg City, not scattered across the country. One bonus address sits just over the boundary in Strassen. I’m Alex, and I cover restaurants for Burger Breton. This list comes from dated menus, local food press and review data rather than a single star rating, and my method and sources are further down.

The 10 best burger restaurants in Luxembourg City, ranked
Lux’burgers, Café Bel Air and Munchies make the top three. All three are burger specialists, and each has either the strongest review data or the most open sourcing. Munchies would rank higher on sourcing alone, but it has barely 18 months of track record against the others’ years of reviews. Places four to ten cover every major neighbourhood, from the station down to the Grund.
Number of Restaurant Guru reviews for Luxembourg City’s top-rated burger restaurants, all rated 4.8 (bar chart): Lux’burgers 1,918, Café Bel Air 874, Brasserie Seppl 862, North Bay 569. Checked 8 October 2026 (Chart: Burger Breton, data from Restaurant Guru (checked 8 Oct 2026); original chart, CC BY 4.0)
1. Lux’burgers: the highest-rated burger in Luxembourg City
Lux’burgers is the best-rated burger restaurant in Luxembourg City, with a 4.8 score on both Restaurant Guru and TripAdvisor. It is a small specialist near the station in Bonnevoie, and it leads Restaurant Guru’s burger ranking with 1,918 reviews.
The burger I’d note first is the Achilles at €19.90. A top-ranked burger joint whose standout is a hummus patty with feta and grilled aubergine instead of beef is rare, and it tells you the kitchen isn’t coasting on a cheeseburger. Burgers run from €19.90 to €20.90 according to Luxtoday’s December 2025 guide.

Plan around the hours. Lux’burgers opens Monday to Friday from 11:45 to 14:15, plus Friday evening from 18:45 to 21:15. Weekends, it’s shut.
- Address: 17 rue de Bonnevoie, L-1260 Luxembourg (Bonnevoie / Gare)
- Best for: a weekday lunch near the station
- Note: the luxburgers.lu domain did not respond on 8 October 2026, so check the restaurant’s social pages before you go

2. Café Bel Air: a near burger-only café in Belair
Café Bel Air is the best sit-down burger in Luxembourg City outside the centre. It ranks second in Restaurant Guru’s burger list with a 4.8 score from 874 reviews, and the site describes it as an almost burger-only place.
The signature is the Charly burger: 200 g (7 oz) of beef, grilled vegetables and cheese. Burgers cost €17 to €26. A gluten-free bun is available for an extra €1, which is rare on this list.
Book ahead. The dining room is small, and Luxtoday recommends a reservation.
- Address: 99 Val Sainte-Croix, L-1371 Luxembourg (Belair)
- Phone: +352 26 38 37 61
- Best for: a proper dinner, gluten-free diners
3. Munchies Burger: the best smash burger in Luxembourg
Munchies is the best smash burger in Luxembourg City and the newest name on this list. It opened on 14 March 2025 at 12 rue Chimay, run by the Black Sheep group behind Bella Ciao, Häerz and Partigiano.

No one else in the city is this open about its suppliers. The beef comes from Jeff Malget’s farm, 35 km away, and the buns come from Boulangerie Mosella. There are five signature burgers. Try the Oklahoma Smash, the Flying Dutchman (crispy onion patties replace the bun), or the Munchies Special with peanut butter, which also comes in a vegetarian version.

A meal costs about €20. Munchies keeps the longest hours of my top 10: Sunday to Thursday from 11:30 to 22:00, and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 to 23:00. If you want to recreate a smash patty at home, my colleague’s Shackburger copycat recipe uses the same press-and-sear technique.

- Best for: smash burgers, Sunday and late evenings
4. Burger Brothers: the halal smash burger pick
Burger Brothers is where to eat a halal burger in Luxembourg City. It serves halal double-patty smash burgers with house sauces at two addresses, one near the station and one in the old town.
Founder Anis Badjoudj, a former investment-bank employee, opened the first Burger Brothers in Thionville, France, in 2018. Paperjam reported the rue Glesener opening near the station in late 2020, then a second city address on rue des Bains. The buns come from the Schild bakery in Thionville. At rue des Bains, the kitchen gets through about 3 tonnes of Bintje potatoes a year for its fries.
Go to rue des Bains for the room. There’s a Pac-Man mural by artist David Soner, a real arcade cabinet and 30 seats upstairs. At rue Glesener, Paperjam listed the Frenchy (raclette), the Black Pearl (salmon, avocado) and the Spanish (chorizo). Burgers start at €14.90 at rue des Bains, according to food creator @mim.eats on TikTok.
- Addresses: 16 rue des Bains, L-1212 Luxembourg (Ville-Haute) and 7 rue Glesener (Gare)
- Best for: halal burgers, cheap-ish lunch near the station
- Note: the burgerbrothers.lu site did not respond on 8 October 2026; check that both addresses are open before you go
5. North Bay: a Canadian diner in Bonnevoie
North Bay is the best burger-and-fried-chicken combination in Luxembourg City. Restaurant Guru rates it 4.8 from 569 reviews and calls it one of the best places for burgers and fried chicken.
Brothers Babak and Ali Jahangard Patavani opened it in June 2021. They were born in Iran and lived in Canada for more than 25 years. According to Kachen, almost everything is made in-house, from sauces and patties to the fried chicken.
- Address: 23 rue Nicolas Martha, L-2133 Luxembourg (Bonnevoie-Sud)
- Best for: a diner-style meal south of the station
- Note: I found no official site or verified Instagram, and no published prices
6. Tomi’s Italian Burgers: Italian toppings in the old town
Tomi’s is the best Italian-style burger in Luxembourg City. It replaced the restaurant Al Bacio on rue Notre-Dame. The name combines the first names of its owners, Tonio and Mino.
The menu covers beef, veal with red onion compote, chicken and seared tuna. The Italian burger stacks burrata, pancetta, rocket and sun-dried tomatoes. Buns are artisan-made, fries are cut in-house, and there is a special burger every week.
- Address: 24 rue Notre-Dame, Luxembourg (Ville-Haute)
- Phone: +352 27 99 48 81
- Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner
- Best for: something different from the classic cheeseburger
7. Brasserie Seppl: burgers and draught beer in Limpertsberg
Brasserie Seppl is the best burger brasserie in Limpertsberg. It serves house-made burgers with draught beer and holds a 4.8 score on Restaurant Guru from 862 reviews.
It is 260 m from the Limpertsberg tram stop, which makes it easy to reach from the centre without a car.
- Address: 42 avenue de la Faïencerie, L-1510 Luxembourg (Limpertsberg)
- Phone: +352 26 20 11 63
- Best for: an evening burger and a beer
8. :buvette des Rotondes: the cheapest good burger near the station
The :buvette des Rotondes serves the cheapest burger on this list. The Rotondes burger cost €11 for grilled bacon, cheddar and house ketchup in the latest prices I could find, from 2025.
It sits in the Rotondes cultural centre behind the station. The menu changes with the seasons and includes vegan options.

- Address: Place des Rotondes, Luxembourg (Bonnevoie, behind the station; sources list both no. 2 and no. 3)
- Best for: a budget burger before or after a train
9. Urban Bar: a smash burger by the Grand Ducal Palace
Urban Bar serves a smash burger a few steps from the Grand Ducal Palace. Its Super Cheese Smashburger has two patties, cheddar and a brioche bun for about €19.

Urban also offers veggie options. A second Urban sits at 7 avenue du Rock’n’Roll in Esch-Belval, outside the city.
- Address: 2 rue de la Boucherie, Luxembourg (Ville-Haute)
- Best for: a burger after sightseeing in the old town
10. Oscar’s Bar & Kitchen: an Irish pub burger in the Grund
Oscar’s is the best burger in the Grund, the old quarter down by the Alzette. It is an Irish pub serving a classic burger for about €16, with guacamole and a fried egg as options.

Bonus outside the city: LëtzeBurger in Strassen
LëtzeBurger is the best burger just outside Luxembourg City and, with Munchies, one of only two places in this guide open seven days a week. It started in 2019 as a food truck run by seven former high-school friends. Today it runs 8 food trucks for events and a fixed restaurant in Strassen.
The beef is local produce supplied through butcher Guy Kirsch, and the buns come from local bakers. Hours are 11:00 to 22:00 daily, and until 23:00 on Friday and Saturday.

Between trains, Lux’burgers (weekdays only) and Burger Brothers are the closest specialists. The :buvette is the budget choice at €11. Five Guys at 55 avenue de la Gare is the only chain Luxtoday mentions. I left it out of the ranking because you can eat the same burger in any big European city. If you love it anyway, try our Five Guys cheeseburger copycat at home.
How much does a burger cost in Luxembourg City?
A restaurant burger in Luxembourg City costs between €11 and €26 in the latest published prices. Most signature burgers on this list cost €16 to €21.
Burger prices in Luxembourg City, in euros (bar chart, low to high): :buvette des Rotondes €11, Burger Brothers from €14.90, Oscar’s about €16, Café Bel Air €17–26, Urban Bar about €19, Lux’burgers €19.90–20.90, Munchies about €20 for a meal. Prices published 2023 to December 2025, indicative only (Chart: Burger Breton, data from Luxtoday (29 Dec 2025), Paperjam and @mim.eats; original chart, CC BY 4.0)
That’s well above the cut-price menus fast-food chains are pushing elsewhere, as covered in our report on the 2026 burger value wars. All prices here come from sources dated 2023 to December 2025. Treat them as indicative.
Local suppliers: Luxembourg beef and bakery buns
Munchies and LëtzeBurger are the two places that name their Luxembourg beef suppliers: Jeff Malget’s farm for Munchies, and butcher Guy Kirsch for LëtzeBurger. Munchies also names its baker, Boulangerie Mosella, and Burger Brothers uses the Schild bakery in Thionville.
I give named suppliers real weight in this ranking. A kitchen willing to tell you where its beef and bread come from is a kitchen you can hold to account. If you want to bake a bun of that standard yourself, follow our homemade burger buns recipe.
Who supplies Luxembourg’s burgers (table): Munchies, beef from Jeff Malget’s farm 35 km (22 miles) away, buns from Boulangerie Mosella; LëtzeBurger, local beef via butcher Guy Kirsch, buns from local bakers; Lux’burgers, Luxembourg-raised beef; Burger Brothers, buns from the Schild bakery in Thionville, France (Table: Burger Breton, data from munchies.lu, letzeburger.lu, Paperjam and Mapstr; original table, CC BY 4.0)
How I ranked these Luxembourg burger restaurants
I ranked these 10 restaurants by combining review data, local food press and how open each kitchen is about its burger. I checked every source on 8 October 2026.
- Review data: Restaurant Guru’s burger ranking for Luxembourg City and TripAdvisor’s burger list. I quote their ratings with the review count and the date. These are not Google ratings.
- Local press and guides: Paperjam opening articles, Luxtoday’s 15 best burgers guide (29 December 2025), Kachen, Editus and Culture Style Life (7 November 2024).
- Official sources: menus and hours from official sites where they exist.
- Criteria: burger specialists over general restaurants, named suppliers, a clear signature burger, and a spread across neighbourhoods.
Only Munchies and LëtzeBurger had active official sites when I checked. Restaurant Guru and TripAdvisor still listed the other venues in October 2026, but I could not confirm they are open in 2026 with a primary source. Call or check the venue’s Google listing before you travel. I left out details that rely on a single unverified source, such as phone numbers that differ between guides.
