Best Burgers in Gdańsk: Main Town to Shipyard

The best burgers in Gdańsk are found in three places: the Main Town (Główne Miasto) along the Motława river, the former shipyard just north of the centre, and Wrzeszcz, the busy district on the road to Oliwa. In the shipyard, Montownia Food Hall groups several counters, burgers among them, inside an old industrial hall.

Gdańsk forms the Tricity (Trójmiasto) with Sopot and Gdynia, and a burger hunt here often covers all three, linked by the SKM commuter train. The shipyard, where the Solidarity movement was born in 1980, has been turning into a district of bars, concert venues and food halls, and much of the newer casual eating has moved there. Summer changes the rhythm: the Baltic beaches and Sopot’s seafront pull crowds north, and casual kitchens stay busy late into the evening.
